Firstly, I was given a room in an extension block that seemed to have been built recently. It was modern but lacked the charm and character of a true heritage property. The main building, with its fireplace and historic ambience, was nowhere to be found. This was especially disappointing considering the premium price I paid, comparable to what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.
The lack of attention to detail continued throughout my stay. When I checked in on a rainy day, I had to walk to the extension block without an umbrella despite the muddy road. The staff seemed unbothered by this inconvenience. Additionally, the room didn't have slippers, and the floor was cold, with no heating available (although they did provide a basic room heater when requested).
To make matters worse, I had to call the front desk to confirm my room for the second day, which should have been done automatically as part of their standard procedure. This lack of efficiency only added to my frustration.
The toiletries were also woefully inadequate, with only basic soap and shampoo provided. Power cuts were frequent, and I had to notify the front desk each time, which seemed like a hassle the hotel should have anticipated.
The breakfast buffet was uninspiring and lacked flavour. To make matters worse, I had dinner at their restaurant, which was rated top in Ooty, but my experience was average at best. To add insult to injury, they got our order wrong, substituting Nasi Goreng (fried rice) with Mee Goreng (fried noodles). When I brought this to their attention, they made no effort to compensate for the mistake.
In conclusion, Hotel King's Cliff fails to live up to its reputation as a heritage property or even a 2-star hotel. The overpricing and lack of attention to detail make it a poor choice for travellers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Ooty.

Really loved the property Well maintained Staff is very helpful I was staying with my 8 month old baby boy and they prepared his meals as I instructed them which was great Sheela,monish,Sanjay,shanthi are very helpful,,,I enjoyed the stay,,

I still cant believe i found this property. This property is definitely a hidden gem. The place takes you back to a bygone era when ooty must have been a different place. This place exhibits a colonial charm and i must say the experience is mesmerising. I went to Ooty for my anniversary and I love the Nilgiri Mountain Railway. Kings cliff added to my experience and I truly felt that History came alive here Also i want to thank the fantastic service of the staff. The front office team welcomed me like a king and made me feel at home and the service team made sure that me and my wife were well fed. Their service added a flair to the overall experience at Kings Cliff. I am falling short of words here but in the end I want to say that kings cliff is the best hotel that I have ever been to and memories that me and my wife formed here would be cherished for life time. I would also like to thank Monish, Shashi and Sheela from the front office team. (They treated me like a king.) In service team i would like to thank Arup, Chandrakant, Marshall, Shekhar and Noor alam. Also i would like to mention Shekars name from HK who made sure that my requests were taken care. He is very sincere and takes very good care of the guests. Thank you team Kings cliff. Keep up the good work. We traveled with family in the first week of December and booked Kings Cliff on the basis of the property being a heritage hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here. The hospitality was amazing. Special shout out to Sheela and Shekhar who helped us out with our requirements. The food at Earls secret was amazing and the breakfast served was delicious. We would recommend booking this property for beautiful views of the mountains, experience of charming heritage style rooms and amazing hospitality.

This is a beautiful property which gives a heritage feel. The service was very good and prompt, the staff is very well trained, friendly and kind. The view from our room was mesmerizing. We also had on demand fireplace set which was a good experience of olden days.

King’s cliff is my favourite place to stay in Ooty. Whenever we visit Ooty we only stay in king’s cliff. I love this place and the staff here is sooo amazing and kind. Here food is very delicious. The breakfast they served was sooo good and versatile. And the receptionist Manoj, he is very kind and helpful and the housekeepers here like Shanthi and Shekhar were so kind. Love the place. People and food and not but the least weather of Ooty.

Good hospitality and service Wonderful and approachable staffs (Arun, Nayan, Monish, Mayuk) and the security staffs as well. Property is well maintained and room were neat and clean. Food at Earl's Secret were top notch. Would like to visit again :-)

Stayed in kings cliff for two days .Stay was so pleasant including room , service and food they made me feel like royalty.I had dinner twice in kings cliffs Earls secret kitchen .Nayan has helped us through the food menu .He provided us good service.

This is a beautiful property atop a small cliff. Surrounded by lush green trees and beautiful flowers, this place is a cute little charm. Especially the hospitality and service of the staff is impeccable. Shekhar assisted my parents in all their needs and took good care during the cold winter nights. Kudos and keep up. Thanks a ton! Everyone on their trip to ooty must visit this place.
