It’s a charming property based on the theme of the character created by Conan Doyle . Starting from the rooms named after his short stories (dancing men, six Napoleons and etc) to our room key chain was in the shape of a pipe . Inside were posters of Sherlock Holmes films, portraits of characters and etc etc. Now coming to the property, Rooms were old colonial style bungalow rooms complete with a fire place. Should you want one they provide you with a fire in the evening, of course at a charge . Staff were courteous and very polite . Room service was prompt . We ordered a continental dinner and were satisfied. There was a nice lawn and garden outside . Great for photos especially if it was sunny. Now, for the not so impressive stuff. Every thing from the food to the items on the minibar seemed overpriced and more than the price quoted when taxes were added . For example our cup of ginger tea set us back by about INR 140 each cup. Of course it may have been justified in a five star ambiance. But honestly this is not a five star property. Now coming to the final and what I feel an important part . The road to the property is in a dilapidated condition. You would need a four wheel drive to arrive here . One has to be careful to return back during daylight or it could be a nasty experience driving there .Now if this had anything to do with the Holmes theme, I think it would be taking things a bit too far! So I feel that if one wants an experience of an old bungalow property ,a one day stay is the maximum I would suggest if any at all. Overall we enjoyed our stay but I feel this place is grossly overpriced and over hyped .
