Tru by Hilton Destin

Loved the place, very contemporary and perfect size and clean. Recommend.

I would like to say "Thank You" to the manager and the employees at this location. We had to evaluate because of Hurricane 🌀 Milton. Already stressed out from the storm and the long drive to the Panhandle with our 4 fur babies 🐾 this hotel and staff made this a pleasant stay. Everyone was so nice & accommodating- making things less stressful. Clean rooms, hot breakfast & convenient location. Just one thing.... Please put coffee makers in rooms! Thank You again!!!

Tim at front desk was very friendly and just all around great, hotel is nice just a year old but room was a bit small for us we upgraded to the king with bunk beds a family of 3 two adults and a 6 year old and a td but small for our liking and the walls in the room a bit overly stained and marked up also but overall clean and nice only stood 1 night but it went well oh and across from the beach access was very nice as well plus a Walmart right next door across the street literally you can walk to it for your beach supplies then cross rd to the beach simple easy great location !

Great location near the state park. Walmart is close by, and there are several area restaurants to choose from. But, the water pressure in the shower was so low that I probably won't be back. Daily housekeeping would have been nice, not every other day. It's not worth $200 a night at all.

We decided to try this budget option when spending two days in Destin, and as the hotel seemed quite new and we've never stayed at a Tru before, we were excited about our stay. That excitement got an immediate knock down when checking in. When we walked through the door, the receptionist looked up and saw that we were coming, but immediately decided that she had more important videos to watch on her phone. Even when we were at the counter, it took a while befor she managed to put her phone away and complete the check-in. This turned out to be the staff story of our stay (at least for the front desk), as they were constantly on their phones, sitting put at the same place. No matter who were there. It was quite amazing really. One could maybe think that they were working on something, but SoMe-accounts were pretty much all i saw. The hotel itself though was as expected newer side and everything looked nice. We had a room with bunk beds, which was a cool thing (on tv by each bed) and something that surely will be a hit with families. The pool area was also one of the better we've seen at a budget chain hotel. Breakfast was your typical american one, nothing impressive, but not worse than other either. The hotel is close to restaurants and shops and a relatively short walk from the beach/state park. All in all it's a very weak 4*, because the staff really needs to understand what business they are inn, but luckily for them I don't interact too much with staff during my stays, so that saved them from a weaker review this time around.

I really had high hopes, I’m a travel enthusiast and content creator and really wanted to give my followers a budget friendly option for Destin, FL. Unfortunately, the customer service was poor from check in until check out. The front desk lead ‘Travertine’ she wouldn’t give me her name, rolled out the red carpet for the Hilton Diamond member before me. After her 10 minute checkin routine with the Diamond member, she motioned for a teen behind me to step up who had been waiting 5 minutes to purchase a bag of chips. She proceeded to check him out without asking my permission for him to skip in line. Once it was finally my turn to check in, she asked me if I heard the spilll she gave to the diamond member before me or if I needed her to go over everything again.. lol. She told me I was early and an early check in may not be available.. it was 2:15 pm, but no worries.. A room was available and we got it, and proceeded on with our vacation plans. The night before check out. I called the front desk from my cell phone, because the room in my phone did not work. I requested a 1pm check out, it was granted and noted per my discussion with the front desk rep. At 12:15 on check out day, Travertine calls my cell, (I’m at the pool ) She asks me if I’m at the hotel, because housekeeping says that I am still occupying the room. I explained the conversation above and she says that the clerk did not update the system. I tell her I’ll be out by 1, she hangs up, no bye, no I apologize for the misunderstanding. Nothing! At 12:40, I am going to to the room to grab my things and check out, but my key is deactivated. I go to the front desk and first ask for Travetine’s name, she refuses. I then ask to just reactivate my key so I can grab my things and go. She says she doesn’t want to deal with me because of my attitude. At this point we both have attitudes, but she doesn’t like to be on the receiving end. She grabs her GM, and proceeds to interject while I share how poor the service has been. I guess you get what you pay for. I visit Destin often and I normally stay at Henderson Beach Resort ( highly recommended that place) not only are the accommodations and amenities good, but the service is outstanding. Tru, I don’t care how reasonable your prices are, if the service is poor, it dampens the whole vacation experience. Highly suggest some 1 on 1 training, all patreons should be treated equally, regardless of their hotel and economic status or ethnicity.

I stayed here for one night on 02/10/2024. It is a great property, except for the shower area (at least in my room) I stayed in 439 at the end of the hallway. it was very quiet in the hotel on the evening I was here. It is conveniently located just down the road from a beautiful beach state park and right across the street from a Walmart, in case you forgot anything. It is practically a brand new property with easy free parking and easy in/out access. The lobby is beautiful, full of cool places to hang out, play games, etc. The breakfast in the morning is well stocked and ready to go for you! Tru's rooms (in case you have not stayed at this brand before) is very intuitive. They are on the small side, but have everything you want packed into that small space. Lots and lots out outlets, hooks, storage areas, etc. It is very well put together with a large tv and a nice comfy bed. The only issues I had was in the shower. First of all, the water pressure (at least in this room) is very, very, very low. VERY! In addition to that, I'm pretty sure once the newness wears a bit, there will be leaks from room to room. This shower is not water proofed at all. Even with the super low water pressure, there are large puddles on the floor after taking a normal shower. Please fix these issues and then it will be a super wonderful property.

Wir waren eine Nacht in diesem Hotel. Der Empfang war freundlich und schnell, die Zimmer sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Das Zimmer konnte gut verdunkelt werden, so dass wir morgens gut ausschlafen konnten. Frühstück war in Ordnung, wobei wir uns etwas Obst gewünscht hätten. Es gibt 2 Pools. Der indoor Pool ist recht klein. Der Pool im Freien war deutlich größer. Insgesamt können wir das Hotel empfehlen.
