The Blue House Boutique Bed & Breakfast

This was the best Jamaican experience we could have asked for, and the entire staff at The Blue House made it one of the most special and memorable vacation experiences of our lives. The property is beautiful, with a joyous abundance of flowers and little garden paths to explore. We spent our afternoons lounging by the pool, enjoying the orchids, hummingbirds and nature all around us. We booked one romantic dinner the first night which was amazing under an arbor of bougainvillea, but the food was so good that we ended up eating every meal save one at the B&B because it was the most authentic Jamaican food we could get for breakfast and dinners, cooked with love by Darryl and D. They spoiled us with family style cooking the whole week and we got to try everything we wanted and then some. Darryl even shared the secret to making a really simple Scotch Bonnet sauce, which we make almost daily now that we're back. Elise was welcoming and always ready with ideas to make our trip better, including recommending a restaurant off the beaten path where I got the best goat curry I've ever eaten. The room was adorable, overlooking the pool (we stayed in Caribbean Dreams), with a great shower and a phenomenally comfortable bed. We could not have asked for a better place to stay and experience everything Jamaica had to offer. They welcomed us like family and we can't wait to go back!

The Blue House B&B is an oasis of tranquility consisting of botanical gardens and endemic Jamaican bird life. Our hosts Elise and Darryl made our stay like coming home to a long awaited family reunion. We opted for the two bedroom cozy cottage. Its open veranda and orchid-filled greenhouse enabled us to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful flowers and occasional hummingbirds that flew by. Our accommodations included AC, a coffee bar area, a small stocked refrigerator, microwave and an indoor sitting area. Everything that was needed for a quiet restful afternoon was provided. Did we mention sleeping? The king bed was very comfortable and we slept like babies. The second bedroom was shared by other family members. The connecting bath was small, had a walk in shower but was adequate for our use. Elise joined us for dinner when able; Darryl came by for a visit after each breakfast. We can say that the food was fabulous; Darryl is a great chef and brings his experience in full. We have not had such delicious Jamaican food in a long time. The cassava pancakes were a first for us and they were awesome. Dinners were also varied and Darryl was able to make dishes that suited all the other guests as well. Great job! Darryl and Elise have two very skilled hospitality assistants who were always pleasant to chat with and very attentive to any of our needs as well. Our 4 day stay at the Blue House was very memorable and we look forward to our next visit! Our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer! Many thanks, Joe, Leslie & Family

I’ve been here before and it never disappoints. This time I invited a bunch of really near and dear friends to celebrate my birthday there with me. Five glorious days and nights. The tranquility, the staff, the service - all top notch!!! I will be back

I had such a great experience staying at The Blue House! The location was perfect, my room was super clean and cozy, beautiful pool view, and the staff were just excellent—friendly, helpful, and always made me feel welcome. And the food… absolutely outstanding. Every morning at 9am your requested breakfast was served and at 7pm dinner. The meal prepared by master chef Darryl, was extremely delicious…definitely one of the highlights of my trip. I’d go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Darryl, Elise and the Blue House Team!! Your Blue House is the bomb! Of course you're rated No. 1 B&B in Jamaica! Located by White River and just a 5 min walk from a turn off the main road, you have many taxi's flying by. Pleasure Cove Beach is less than a 7 minute walk. We loved the family inclusion, the bonding over breakfast and dinner! Darryl will say he's not that social but every morning at breakfast he'll have a story to tell, some history to share and a joke to crack. He has great tips on locations to go see and things to do. His variety in culinary is excellent - look out for his Oxtail and Cassava pancakes!! Also, dine next to Doctorbirds (hummingbirds) having sips of sugar water while you eat! Elise joins in the evenings for dinner! She is just as warm and as funny as brother Darryl. Owane, Jodane and Donna Marie will look after your meal services, your rooms and washing, if needed. They've been polite, friendly and always genuinely smile. The grounds are quite well kept with a beautiful pool near vibrant, colourful plants by Elise. We stayed in the family room downstairs that had its own verandah and mosquito/bug meshes by windows, thankfully! AC and ceiling fan always worked, TV and WiFi available. Their right hand man for airport pick up and driving around (if you want him to) is Patrick. Patrick is the best tour guide whilst driving around Jamaica. He will talk and show you areas that has culture attached to it. We loved his humour and were impressed with his general knowledge about Jamaica!! You will enjoy his story telling and jokes too. The best words to describe our stay here is: we loved everyday and everybody there! Of course we're returning!! Donna B

I loved it there! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Their food and beverages are the No.1 on the island by far. Darrell and Elise are really nice people to talk to and they give helpful tips and advice to thrive in Jamaica. If you have any questions, ask away. They would be happy to help.
