I stayed for 2 nights, a combination of business and pleasure. Checked in on a Wed. Evening and left on Friday. Even though my room preferences on the IHG app is set to a high floor, I was given a room on the 3rd floor, room 304 to be exact, with no option to change rooms, they said they were sold out. Room 304 is a handicapped room that literally stunk like dirty wet socks, musty, the bed was comfortable and the hotel was basically quiet except there were several college rowing teams there and although the hotel has a strict quiet policy after 9PM, I guess it doesn’t cover slamming doors until 1AM then slamming doors at 6Am when the leave. The bathroom door didn’t close right, the room could use an upgrade, it wasn’t the worse but, I’ve stayed in better. The staff was friendly enough the one time I interacted with them although, I thought I’d get express checkout but, no. Next time I’m in Oak Ridge, I would seek other options, this would be a “no other option” hotel. Hilton’s app is far better than IHG’s. Even staying down in Knoxville might be a better option. I do travel quite a bit and stay at all the hotel chains, I just wasn’t over thrilled with this Holiday Inn. Like I said, it’s a no other option hotel. No expectations at all sorry to say.
