Arrowwood Resort at Cedar Shore

We have stayed at Cedar Shores many times in the last 10 years. Every time it gets a little worse and more expensive. Good: It's on the river. The staff is mostly Friendly when you find them. The layout is cool. Bad: Everything is out of date. We spent $700 for 2 nights, on a holiday, in a Suite and had to listen to the downstairs residents let the door slam shut every 5 minutes, because they had a ton of kids and they blocked the door open, with the security bar, all weekend. A family took 4 rooms below us and turned the whole area into a Daycare. Tricycle, bikes, baseball, screaming babies, dirty diapers on the ground. Not once did I see Management even walk by. It was miserable! They blocked the only sidewalk to get to the Tiki Bar area, so when the bands came with their stuff, they had to ask these people to move, so they could pull their equipment through. We were celebrating an event, so we went to dinner at their restaurant. We got a new server who hardly spoke English. He did not now the sequence of how to take an order. He dropped off our $42 plates and never came back. The potatoes were barely warm. The Buffalo steaks were good, but he never came back to check. Then he dropped a glass of water all over another table. They made an excuse and left, we should have too. We had to go up and get the bill to pay. *The whole weekend was a bust and an expensive one at that! *If the Owner would like to call me, I'd be more then happy to tell them what they NEED to improve. I love the area, but I can't take another weekend like that. We would come back if something changed. *I do not consider this a Resort anymore. It is more of a Local hang out where people block off rooms and disregard all other occupants. The management seems to allow this behavior. *We had planned to eat there both nights, but after our experience, we went elsewhere and they lost our revenue. YOU can do BETTER Cedar Shores!

My wife and I have traveled a lot during our 32 years together, and this was one of our worst hotel stays ever, with so much noise we hardly got any sleep at all. The air conditioner was VERY noisy. When the lights in the bathroom were turned on, the noisy fan would run also. When those lights were turned off, the fan would loudly grind to a halt. Because of the fan noise and the brightness of the bathroom lights, each of us would close the bathroom door if using the bathroom ( to try not to wake the other), but the squeaky bathroom door just added to the noise. Instead of having a downspout that brings water from the roof directly to the ground, the one outside our room (#210) had joints where water would hit metal on its way down. It rained all night, and it sounded like two people using drumsticks to play the gutter like a percussion instrument for hours on end. We would have opened the window to get fresh air, but that would have made this noise even worse, so we had to run the noisy air conditioner instead (and put up with both noises). The toilet seat was not firmly attached to the toilet and slid around when we sat on it. There was a sink near the coffee maker, but its faucet didn’t work. It seemed that there were no water pipes connected to it at all. As we were checking out, we expressed our concerns to the receptionist, and she seemed bored by them. We asked her to write them down and share them with management, and she said that (1) she was taking mental notes, (2) that she would relay them to management, and (3) that someone would call us later that day. Now, two weeks have passed and nobody has called. I shared these same comments with the hotel management in the online survey they sent me, but I have received no response to my review. The receptionist told us that we should have expressed our concerns earlier and been moved to a different room. However, it was not until we were actually in bed that we realized just how bad the various noises were. For example, the rain gutter noise was minimal when we went to bed, but it got so much worse as the rain intensified. We tried, unsuccessfully, to sleep through it. When we left Oacoma, we had to drive for about seven hours, so we really needed to be well rested. However, having gotten so little sleep, we curtailed our sightseeing plans for that day because we were so exhausted. We wish we would have chosen someplace else in Oacoma to stay, and we advise others to do exactly that.

I paid $165 to stay in a room with the veneer peeling off the bathroom door in strips, a very noisy bathroom fan, no reading light by the one easy chair, and a view of the parking lot. When I showed the woman at the desk the photo of the door, she said, "Is that the bathroom door? I'll tell them." She obviously knew what it was and simply didn't care.

Great hotel! We were there with a large group and had no issues. The room is very clean, the staff super helpful and kind even when we had to delay out departure an hour. The banquet dinner was delicious and even though we didn't get to eat in the restraunt friends who did said it was awesome! Definitely would stay again.

I have stayed here many times, and this time it didn't go as well as usual. Check-in was quick but I didn't get the room I was told I would be getting when I reserved the room. I was expecting a first-floor room with a view of the river. I was placed in a second-floor room with a view of the indoor pool. The room was missing some light and a chair to sit in. There was one lamp between the beds which made reading impossible. Usually, there is a floor lamp. The bed was comfortable, and the TV was a nice large screen. I ate one meal in the restaurant and the chicken strips were delicious. One big plus was the young lady tending the bar. She was very polite and seemed happy to be serving all the customers. She was quick to answer questions about the area. I will be back again and hope to end up in a room with a better view. Travel safe...

The Good: Earlier check in time on this trip, bar and check in staff, conference rooms. The Bad: Walked into my room to find a pile of sheets, an empty 12 pack of beer, an unmade bed and a full trash can. (Quickly corrected by the head housekeeper who did offer to get me a new room) A cool/almost cold shower for me and many conference participants in the morning Wallpaper curling in the bathroom and a large buckle/wrinkle in the wallpaper. The food is awaysl disappointing. It is over priced, uninsprired and seems to rely heavily on deep fried or pre made entries. Most of our table's meals were only half consumed.

Front desk:Professional and courteous. This is hardly the case anymore. Good job. Rooms were Clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. Nice lobby area and a very cool place to stay on the Missouri River. Very good value for the price. Nice place to stay !

Bunkhouse room 303- 9/12/2022 Stayed 1 night. Beautiful location. Room smelled musty, yucky carpet. The hot water is on the cold & cold on hot. The fridge didn’t work, my phone didn’t charge overnight, the entire plug didn’t work. The nightlight over door didn’t work. Towels were clean but dingy looking color, maybe the water here I dunno! Bed was marshmallowy soft, yet firm. I always check mattresses & ***** the top half down where we stay & it appeared to be a new mattress. That was the only thing going for that place & the location.

We checked in just before dinnertime on the 4th of July. The woman working the counter could not have been nicer or more heloful. The door of our room didn't work well, so she came up to help us. It was stuck from humidity and she showed us how to work it. It was quiet, after the fireworks, and we slept very well. The room and the bathroom were exceptionally clean, even under the sink. The pool was refreshing and everyone enjoyed their time swimming. We will stay here again!
