Premier Inn Nottingham City Centre (Goldsmith Street) hotel

The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. The room was ok, slightly bigger than expected. No safe for valuables and gadgets. Beware the rooms on the lower floors facing the trams. They're noisy, if the windows are open. Speaking of windows - it might be an idea to clean the insides the windows and inner ledges.

Room was smelly and curtains were ripped... location was spot on for our needs and car parking was spot on right round the back of hotel.

Yesterday, my boyfriend (18), his little brother (16) and I (18) had all arrived at the hotel at 3 to check in. Immediately as we were greeted by a lady with dyed reddish/purple hair we were greeted with judgement and annoyance. My boyfriend and I had planned this trip for his little brothers birthday to see a show at the theatre which was a massive surprise we'd all been looking forward too. Prior to this we had been in a very stressful situation and as not knowing Nottingham were relieved to be finally able to check in the hotel at 3 to calm down and feel better. However, we were turned away very rudely, the woman had stated that us at 18 cannot take care of my boyfriends brother as he doesn't count as his legal guardian (which I believe is insane as at the age of 18 we are legally allowed to drink, vote, book hotels, go clubbing, adopt and much more). The woman had stated that this was in the terms and conditions however as this is one of our first trips and we were extremely excited for this surprise for his brother and we did not feel the need to check as we thought that it wouldn't matter as we are 18, and the terms and conditions are quite frankly hidden. Though this is our fault, it was not the information that was given to us that was upsetting but rather the absolute rudeness and dismissal in which we were told. Due to this we had asked for a refund and were denied due to it being after 1pmand were left in the city of Nottingham with nowhere to stay with no other help or information. This was just for 1 night bearing in mind and we are from Northampton which is a long train away were stranded in Nottingham due to no help at all and no money being refunded. As I read through the terms and conditions it stated that we wouldn't get a full refund if we didn't cancel, therefore my boyfriend went back in to try and cancel. The woman again was very rude and confusing as she asked if we were still going to stay. Which was extremely confusing as she turned us away just previously due to him not being his brothers legal guardian and asking once again for ID of all 3 of us being 18 when his brother as we stated is not multiple times. The utter disrespect and disregard of the staff at this hotel was appalling and frankly nasty. I would not recommend as they are horrible. We did however find an Airbnb at the duplex apartments which took us all even though his brother is 16 just for a night and was absolutely wonderful. Do not book this hotel. I would give it -1 if I could.

Terrible! Room stank of cigarettes and when we mentioned it at reception the response the staff had was “there’s no way for us to know” So you don’t clean rooms??? The rooms are outdated, mouldy and hot. You cannot leave the window open if your room gives onto the parking lot as there is a constant loud humming !! Worst premiere inn I’ve ever stayed in and very expensive !

Beware during summer as no aircon in rooms. Also parking at hotel very expensive, staff advising use of Q-park 10 minutes walk away!

PI are cutting corners and it shows. Location: Good for theatre and town. On the tram route and a few steps from the University tram stop. Can get a tram directly from the train station, which is approximately a 20 minutes walk. Reception: Unmanned, have to call staff. Feels insecure at night, especially as you can walk straight in. On a hot day the iced water provided was a thoughtful gesture. Can leave your bag before check in time. Seems greedy to charge a substantial fee to check in early. If there’s a room ready, just allocate it, why annoy and alienate your most important commodity. Room: Clean and comfortable room. Fan was clean, some hotels overlook this. Good beds and linen. Comfortable chair and reasonable space. No decaf coffee. Going backwards here, really should provide decaf tea and coffee. Bathroom: bath with shower. Good shelf around basin for toiletries. Unpleasant using the bath due to the painfully sharp safety lining. Shower almost useless, the small, powerless trickle on full barely made it over the taps. Don’t need to be in a hurry. Toilet flush needs more water and power, tiny, weak flush mechanism struggles to wash down paper even. Staff: Not very visible, but pleasant and very helpful when they’re around. Not their fault they’re in short supply. Summary: wouldn’t stay in that room again due to the poor bathroom facilities.
