Black Bull A1 Lodge

Terrible, cold, damp and horrible host who rang me up and abused me the following day on the phone because I asked for a refund at check out. The main house was lovely and at check in was warm and welcoming but we were shown to a cold, damp, dirty lodge, when we complained we were upgraded to another cold, damp,dirty lodge

We booked 2xdeluxe double rooms and when we checked in were shown to a cold, damp, dirty 2 bed cottage with only 2 of 4 radiators working and one bath towel between the two of us. We complained and were 'upgraded' to a bungalow. Radiator in twin bedroom didn't work, TV had no aerial and it was so cold I slept with the duvets from both beds, fully clothed to keep warm. Radiator in double bedroom worked but as place was so damp wasn't man enough to take the chill off. Bathroom was warm but dated and dirty. My friend tried to get warm with a hot shower and slept on the kitchen sofa as it was warmer than the bedrooms. We complained in the morning and were given a 50% refund and declined breakfast. The owner reversed the refund after we had left. Which is fraud!!!! Owner saw my honest review and phoned me next day and was very abusive. Called me a *****, a cow and a liar. He said not only had he reversed the refund, he was charging me an extra £40 as claimed we had taken dogs into the room - which is untrue! If you don't mind cold, damp, dirty, accommodation when you've booked deluxe rooms, and an abusive owner, then go ahead and book. Otherwise avoid it at all costs - there's a good travelodge a stones throw away!!!!
