Premier Inn North Shields (Ferry Terminal)

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night on 1 January 2025. We were with friends/family (3 other couples) celebrating the New Year. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Nicola on reception. The room was lovely and clean and tidy and bed was so comfy. We will definitely return.

We stayed here between Christmas and new year, just for a small break away, and to visit barter books, in Alnwick. Really clean, the staff were all friendly, as are most people from this area. The hotel was clean inside and out, and had plenty of parking spaces. The bathroom was well stocked with soap, shower gel and toilet rolls. Really good shower. The bed was one of the comfiest I've slept in away from home. There were plenty of tea and coffee facilities. We didn't use the restaurant on site this time, but saw plenty of others doing so. Loads of wardrobe space, which we found helpful, and a surprising amount of plug sockets! None by the bed though, but this seems to be standard. If I had to give a down side, I'd say the doors slam if you just let them go, which some people seem to do when leaving their rooms. But that's more about the people than the hotel. Overall, for the price we paid, we were happy with our stay and will probably return.

We stayed here the night before we were due to sail from the Newcastle cruise terminal, pre booking and paying for it several months before our cruise was due to leave, this itself was an easy to do with no problems at all. The location was brilliant and with the shopping centre across the car park it gave us somewhere to visit before we were due to embark. The room was clean and offered the usual Premier Inn basic items. My wife and I normally take a couple of days or so to acclimatise to a strange bed and this was no exception so for an overnight stop it wasn't the best sleep we have experienced. We had our evening meal and pre paid for breakfast at the Brewers Fayre which was next door and both meals were quite good. The staff in both the hotel and Brewers Fayre were excellent and helpful and we had no complaints. When leaving the following day it was literally a two minute drive to the cruise terminal car park, as a matter of fact the two of us had a walk down there after breakfast to see the ship, it had only docked there that morning, and see where we had to park which helped a lot. We would definitely use the hotel again if we needed accommodation in this area.

Thinking of staying here is car park free while you go on a cruise for 10 days if not how much is it per day or week please could you let me no if possible I would really appreciate it thank you very much for your response it is very much appreciated and very helpful

This was of the usual high Premier Inn quality with spacious rooms and a large bathroom with a bathtub. There was a restaurant next door. The hotel is situated by the gates of the ferry terminal and it is a level ten minute walk from the gates to the cruise and ferry terminal buildings. The 12pm checkout is also useful if the boat leaves in the afternoon. The major downside is that there is virtually no public transport in the area meaning that you have to get a taxi to the hotel (about £20 from Newcastle Central Station) or face a long walk from the nearest bus stop or metro station.

I was going to meet some friends at Whitley Bay with my family, but the drive was ages away, so we decided to stay overnight in this nearby Premier Inn for convenience. There was a vending machine which was fun. We stayed in Room 3. When we got into the room, it was very nice and very clean. It looked nice inside, the beds were comfy, and we couldn't wait to sleep there. My brother ran up and down the aisle. There was some depressing news on the tv as I was going to sleep. Comfy sleep, lovely rooms and staff. Breakfast tasted amazing. I recommend the pancakes (with syrup, as they can be a bit dry without it) and the full English. Overall, i had a fantastic time and my trip out was so fun. Would definitely recommend the hotel, and would love to stay here again!
