I love the style of this old building. The updates are so well done. Absolute pleasure to visit. Really clean throughout, and great location.

This is an imposing hotel set in a commanding position overlooking the promenade and North Sea. Bedrooms are spacious, clean and have all amenities you would require. Large bar / restaurant area with a wide choice of well cooked food. Plenty of car parking and well located to explore this relatively little known coastline (outside the Tyne area), as well as near the station for a short ride into Newcastle. Overall, a very enjoyable stay which I hope to repeat.

The location was excellent - next to the beach and close to the town for shops etc. The staff were very welcoming and helpful as this was our first visit. Overall an excellent experience

This is a stunning place to stay . Rooms are so comfortable. I had a terrace room . Clean with tv , sofa , tea coffee etc, beautiful food in the restaurant.

Excellent venue for an overnight stay with friends and family staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was exceptionally clean.

The hotel was clean and well maintained, the staff were very friendly and the food good. What let the hotel down was the temperature of our room, it was too hot to sleep even with the windows open.

Very enjoyable stay and great location on the sea front with plenty of free parking spaces. The breakfast was second to none with vast choice of cereals, fruits and yoghurt and a full English breakfast, again with large choice of traditional fare, all well cooked and fresh. The large double bed was very comfortable and the shower good and powerful. The staff were all attentive and hard working and the manager had a nice word and advice on where to go, with every guest. I could not fault the experience in any way and would highly recommend

Lovely hotel and food , stayed twice in the last two weeks . The staff are second to none , nothing is too much trouble , Love the self check in and out . Loved breakfast and it was all piping hot. Review saying it’s cold must have gone down last minute , it’s under heat lamps so won’t be covered . Covered goes snotty anyway . There was some commotion and few drunken people causing trouble for staff, they are stars for putting up with ****** getting plastered and causing damages . Didn’t spoil our stay and we will be back real soon . Had the large balcony room overlooking the sea. It’s a perfect location Walked down to Riley’s fish shack and the town. The Bed is so comfortable Not sure what people complained about train noise for , the train track didn’t move closer , it’s always been there. Moaners , trains stopped around 11.40pm anyway . You can’t please everyone as today’s generation are wet wipes , but you pleased us and we love the hotel . We will Be back very soon . Dogs loved it again also and they loved your sausages which were piping hot as was all The breakfast . Thank you .

Possibly the worst service I have ever experienced from a hotel visit. We had booked a meal for family and friends as our first (and last) visit to this hotel. We waited 30mins for a coffee..The food was cold on arrival to our table 40 minutes after waiting for it, with two meals missing. We had to go up to the bar and ask where the meals were several times and eventually told them to forget it as we had waited so long the others had all finished theirs. We were extremely disappointed with the unhelpful staff. Service and communication to customers was so poor I would not recommend this hotel to visit.
