We were very well received by the staff in the bar upon arrival. Our room was very “tired” and worn. There seemed to be no elevator so be aware there are stairs to the rooms. The hotel was well located in Braunton’s central area where there are bars and restaurants. It was quiet though for sleeping.

My new favourite place! The staff were so friendly, the food was amazing and the whole experience was a pleasure. We even took the part in the Monday quiz and came 2nd . Was so much fun! Will definitely come every time we are in Braunton. Very highly recommended

Room clean and cosy and not noisy being next to the road, bed very comfy , friendly welcome and booked for dinner and breakfast, dinner my steak cooked perfectly , burger amazing compliments to chef for all food. Would stay again. Thank you

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome. Bar prices, food choices were good. Had a great meal and service was really good, nice atmosphere too. One of the very few pubs I’ve been in where the toilets were clean! Couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you!

We had a smashing stay overnight and the staff were so so friendly and helpful on arrival and at breakfast. The room was spotless and bed very comfy .for the cost of the stay we would rate this one of the best places we stayed whilst visiting family

We had a lovely stay, no road noise at all but we were in a back room (Burrows). Clean and spacious room, looks freshly painted. We had a spotless modern shower room. Friendly staff. Very good value, especially as it includes breakfast, would stay again.

Stayed last weekend had a lovely welcome from the young lady in the bar. Room was fine. Noisy but on a main road and expected. Linen was white and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom was tired bottom of shower tray was loose and mould on the ceiling. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice. Excellent service from the young lady. Overall a good choice but room/bathroon needing a bit of freshing up. Would stay again, good location.

Couldn’t fault the welcome here at The George! Room was clean with kettle and tea/coffee facilities plus bottle of fresh water. Shower was excellent too. The reason for the 3 stars was the need for sprucing everything up. The bathroom had a few fittings that needed attention and breakfast was punctuated by a slow drip into a container from the ceiling above- probably a shower leaking. Good breakfast with reasonable choice though and free parking across the road.

The staff were extremely welcoming and made up in part for the very tired room that we stayed in. Mould on the bathroom ceiling, water stains on the bedroom ceiling and wallpaper and a loo that wouldn’t flush were hardly compatible with the description of boutique hotel rooms. For £335 for a 3 night stay we had expected better but the towels and sheets were white and clean and breakfast was good. The owner needs to respond to plumbing issues and refurbishment asap.
