Stay Nikko Guesthouse

The guy who manages the guesthouse is the nicest, friendliest, most helpful person ever. He really made our stay feel so warm and homely even though it was winter. They can receive luggage which is pretty amazing and we needed to send luggage to the airport and he spent a lot of effort working out how we could do it. It really made me feel at ease the amount of help and attention he gave. He sat down and helped us work out which hikes to do and which bus to take. He had bus maps and hike maps, we were time poor so we arrived with little planning and he helped us work out how to do the things we wanted to do. The room itself was incredibly clean and tidy, I felt absolutely comfortable there, he lives right next door so if you need anything you can ring a bell and he will come out and answer your questions. He also has a laundry service where he will wash dry and fold a certain amount of laundry - either free if you stay for 3 days or more or 1k yen. You can just feel the amount of effort and thought they put into the operation. I really want to come back one day, it was such a highlight of our trip.

My family of 5 stayed here for 3 nights in the loft villa. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed. The host met us as we arrived and gave us a full run down on the accommodation and local attractions with a detailed maps. The loft villa was perfect. Kitchenette, dining table, lovely bathroom, tatami room and upstairs loft space for sleeping. The stairs were quite steep but manageable. We (parents) slept upstairs and the children downstairs. It was well located in walking distance to train stations, 7 eleven, restaurants, Shintaikyo bridge and Toshogu Shrine. At the end of the stay the host took us and our luggage to the train station in 2 trips. This was a wonderful end to our stay in Nikko not having to worry about getting the luggage and children to the station. Thank you so much Stay Nikko Guesthouse ❤️
