Very comfortable B&B on the border between England and Scotland. Rooms are well decorated and maintained and the bed super comfortable. Hosts very friendly and welcoming. Very quiet location, plenty of safe parking. Highly recommended, we will return!

What a lovely place to stay. We stayed here for four nights our hosts Margaret and Jackie made us feel so welcome. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom was spotless, bed was comfortable (probably the best sleep I have had anywhere) and the room was so quiet. As I have Coeliacs and require a gluten-free diet it can be difficult to get a full breakfast and I usually have to miss out on some items. This wasn't the case here as each day I was offered a filling full English breakfast including Sausages and GF bread for toast. Margaret was always interested to know what we had been up to the previous day and offered suggestions we could visit including places to eat. Jackie's dry sense of humour kept us amused each morning. We loved our stay here and would gladly come back when we find ourselves up this way again

Absolutely lovely place to stay, hosts were welcoming and helpful, room was spotless and cosy. plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, also milk in a jug and small fridge, hallelujah I hate those awful little milk pods. We had the use of conservatory which was also warm and most welcome after a day of walking. To top it off the breakfast was so delicious it was hard not to over eat.

This is our third time staying at Bessiestown and nothing really changes - immaculately clean, friendly people, lovely breakfast, comfortable bed and beautiful surroundings. Plates, glasses and cutlery are provided if you want to take your dinner in - and use of a microwave. Plus a mini fridge in your room with fresh milk. As always we wished we were staying longer.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. The views were amazing. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory in the evenings. The staff were very friendly, made you feel at home. Would highly recommend.

This was our third stay here and we would definitely stay again. Large apartment type room, easy parking and friendly hosts. The breakfast was excellent. Easy parking next to the apartment. Only issue is due to several hotels now closed it is a 15 minute drive to somewhere for dinner.

I stayed three nights in total on my way to and from Scotland, I loved it so much. A wonderful welcome from Jack and the delightful Margaret. Such pleasant staff they have to help them. A beautiful room, a stunning location looking across the valley into Scotland and great choice at breakfast. I spoke to so many guests who had been returning for years, I’m not surprised!

Well this guesthouse is a real find. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was spacious and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room as were toiletries in the en-suite. There was a communal lounge and a fabulous conservatory. Our hosts were absolutely lovely and were very helpful with information about the area. Breakfast was fantastic and really set us up for the day. We will definitely stay here again, thank you

We used to come to Bessiestown regularly before Covid , for afternoon tea , with friends and family. Alas they haven’t restarted it but they have beautiful guest accommodation at reasonable prices for B&B. We decided to have an overnight stay to celebrate a friends birthday and to remember a close friend who’d recently passed away , a friend who so enjoyed an afternoon tea here. We brought our own afternoon tea with us ,and Margaret , the owner , very kindly loaned us the china which was a lovely thing to do for us and much appreciated . The accommodation is superb and loads of space , with everything you need. A cooked breakfast was served in the main dining area of the guest house. It was very tasty and served with fresh coffee. We were looked after very well by Margaret , Jackie , and Ann so it’s a five star thumbs up from us. We do plan to return this year
