You’re reading reviews because you want some reassurance that Cairndoon Byre is a good choice for accommodation. Personally, what I want from a B&B is a warm welcome, a comfortable, well-appointed and well-equipped room, and a good breakfast. Anything more is a bonus. Dot and Adrian serve up all these needs and so much more at Cairndown Byre. The property is incredible, and absolutely spotless. The welcome is second-to-none as Dot and Adrian immediately make you feel at home so you can decompress and relax. Beds are very comfy and the shower - well just experience that cleansing water pressure for yourself. Breakfast is pretty much bespoke as you can combine the ingredients you desire from a comprehensive list, to get your day off to a delicious start. And just outside the property, the surrounding countryside is nothing short of magnificent with stunning views, great walks, and the incredible history of the Whithorn peninsula. We loved our two nights at Cairndoon Byre, and if you are still reading this review, take it from me, rest assured, you will love it too.

Needed a good rest in a quiet location and this was just the ticket. Amazing views - even when the weather was not too great! We were well looked after by Dot and couldn’t find anything to fault. 4 very comfortable sleeps - we left feeling very relaxed. If we get the chance to go back to this area, we would definitely book here!

It was a perfect break, Dot and Adrian were perfect hosts.They made us very welcome and couldn't do enough for us. Room spotlessly clean, great shower, room had all facilities. Amazing breakfasts, all in all a wonderful place to stay. We will return, too good to miss

Booked this as I messed up my first choice...boy am I glad I did! Super location , although a little further out than anticipated. Gorgeous views all round. Absolutely fantastic hosts, Dot and Adrian could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Beautiful room with fabulous views and all the nice touches , body lotion ... And as if that was not enough breakfast was awesome!

We both had a very enjoyable stay here, Dot and Adrian were the perfect hosts and the location was excellent and the view was stunning. Great selection for breakfast . The bed room was very clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. Would definitely recommend Cairndoon Byre to anyone. Thank you Dot and Adrian (hope to see you both soon) from Jane Joe

Craigdoon Byre is in a superb situation. It is run by Dot and Adrian who built the accommodation themselves on the site of an old barn. We stayed for five nights. The bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom was outstanding. The breakfasts, cooked by Adrian, were excellent, with lots of choice each day. Thoroughly recommended.

This is a truly beautiful place to be. Dot and Adrian are the perfect hosts. Apart from the exquisite and peaceful surroundings, the rooms are spotless, the bed and bedding are of an extremely high quality, the towels are fluffy and warm and the selection of breakfasts is mouth watering. My choice of eggs and salmon were freshly prepared by Adrian and were sprinkled with fresh chives from Dot’s own vegetable garden. I cannot praise this home away from home enough. Cairndoon Byre is remote enough to have a quiet environment to read and relax but close enough to walks, restaurants, beaches and local historical attractions. I definitely recommend a stay with Dot and Adrian. Five STARS :)

Having enjoyed a week touring Scotland in a Campervan we decided we would spend our last two nights in a B&B. We stayed at Cairndoon Byre for the two nights in July 2022 and we were not disappointed. What an amazing B&B we were greeted by our hostess with such kindness and this continued throughout our stay. We booked a double room which was situated on the ground floor. The room was fantastic. Clean, modern, great mattress on bed plus an en-suite, Tv, Coffee and Tea facilities. We had use of the main lounge which had a fantastic view of the area and a very comfy sofa. Breakfast needs a review of its own, The cooked breakfast was pre ordered the night before and the choices available would satisfy any foodie for sure. Our Breakfast table greeted us in the morning, delightfully adorning a selection of breakfast condiments and treats with generous servings of cereals, fresh fruit and yogurts available too. Our choice of hot breakfast was served with fresh toast and what a great breakfast experience that was. Hats of to the Chef 👩🍳 100%
