We loved the chilled out vibe, from the hotel and staff the bedroom was amazing you sank into the deep pile carpet once you walked into the room, you had a amazing view over their walled gardens but all views from the rooms looked fantastic, lots of nooks and crannies in the hotel to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere, read of chat , plenty of walks to go on and a spa to soak her when you get back . Food was amazing especially as most of it is grown in their gardens and locally sourced meat. Farm shop was great S you could take home produce that you had already eaten in the hotel , even their honey made by their own bees . Will definitely return for a chilled out stay .

We arrived at about 10 to 3 and our room still wasn’t available. There was a wedding on so perhaps that explains, but since checkout is 11Am, it makes me wonder. The room we had was quiet with a stunning view, the meal in the bistro was good too and the breakfast excellent. The downside for me was the constant droning Muzak ( noise) in ALL public areas.. it just howled all day and even at breakfast too. We couldn’t wait to get out to get some peace and quiet.. beautiful surroundings, but wailing depressing noise! I’m not sure if we’ll go back as I couldn’t enjoy my food while the loud droning noise persists. Other hotels may have music sometimes, but it’s constant here.

Both the Spa & Hotel room were very highly rated for our stay. However, we had extensive issues with your hospitality at both dinner and breakfast. Staff either ignored us completely, or were rude to us when we asked 3 members of staff where our coffee/toast was after waiting for 40 minutes. We also sat for 20 minutes waiting on our dessert menu, we ended up having to leave dinner. This is such a shame because the hotel is in such an idyllic spot, the hospitality needs massively improved if you want guests to return.

Beautiful hotel, it has been decorated with great attention to detail. There is no noise at all other than the sound of birds, and the balcony was lovely to sit on. All the team members were professional, helpful and friendly, the food was delicious and the thermal suite was impressive.

We visited over easter for afternoon tea as a family treat. The hotel itself is beautiful and really impressive. Upon arrival we had to check with reception as we had never been before and didn’t know where to go. The lady walked us down to the afternoon tea area where there were lovely couches beside a large window overlooking the beautiful castle. We were excited to be in there….. except we weren’t! She then walked us back out and said our table must be in the other area. We were seated at the back wall, no view at all and a micro table for the four of us! Very very low to ground and narrow. I’ve been to many afternoon teas and if there is a low table is it usually an ample size. Not this one. Nicely laid out and clean but not appropriate for 4. Maybe not even 2! So then we were left. For a long time. The other tables were occupied and everyone had their food etc. waitress finally came out and took tea/coffee order. She seemed nice enough but zero chat or explanation of what was available/coming. We got our drinks. Still no word of the food. Eventually after another long wait, our 3 tier ‘afternoon tea’ arrived. I have never been to any afternoon tea where they don’t tell you what is coming or ask you if you have any allergies/ preferences/dislikes. One of the children was 12 and there was no mention or asking if a kids option was required. The standard food was just sent out. The nicest part was the sausage roll which seemed to be homemade, the sandwich was horrible as I hate cucumber! This is something that could have been substituted had I known the menu. The wrap was also not nice. The salmon.again I didn’t eat as I don’t like smoked salmon, my daughter had both of them. Again- could have been substituted. The scones were ok- raisins/sultanas in all of them which my daughter isn’t a huge fan of-again we would have said if we had been asked. The sweet treats were odd. We actually spent a long time guessing what flavour they were meant to be. The peach cake was just sponge. All in all, probably the most disappointing afternoon tea I’ve had. Looked nice but lacking taste and execution. Galgorm still edges all of them. I won’t be returning or recommending unfortunately, which is a shame as it’s a lovely place. £150 badly spent in my opinion. Also-we sat on for a while just chatting- waitress seemed to disappear completely so we ended up just leaving and paying at reception as there was no one to ask or pay. This has also never happened anywhere else. We had to ask for tea/ coffee refills throughout as they didn’t seem to come near us to offer.
