Travelodge Newport Central

Friendly and professional staff. Always helpful when approached with a query. Very clean room , comfy bed and happy to top up my tea and coffee regularly. Communal areas were also in good order and clean . Great position near the station; but no noise from busy road or trains . Very central location. Nothing to fault to be honest .

This is in a great central area, it is walking distance to the shops and a great Weathespoons is 5 minutes away. My room was clean as was the bathroom and the room had everything I needed baring in mind it is a 3 star hotel. The bed was comfortable and I slept well and although there was a little bit of noise from other residents it wasn't anything too much. There are some parking bays which was an added bonus. The only thing I was that I paid for Wifi but you can only connect to 2 phones/ipads but we had 2 phones and 2 ipads and if we are paying for Wifi I think it should be for as many as we need.

Staff really helpful, nothing too much trouble, especially Sharron on reception. Clean, comfortable, central location. Reliable service, comfortable bed, easy access. Quick & easy breakfast box for people in the go! Would recommend.

Great stay at Newport Central all staff are great will do anything to help rooms are clean bed is comfortable racheal great housekeeper Debbie. Manager will sort out anything I need tea and coffee in rooms tv in room all staff go above and beyond to help

As a visiting supervisor from another property, I’ve taken time to review the housekeeping standards during my stay. I’d like to raise a few concerns which could pose a significant risk in the event of a daily audit. Firstly, I observed several small hairs both in the bath area and on the toilet roll, indicating a lack of attention to detail during cleaning. Additionally, the chrome fixtures were not properly polished, which further detracts from the room’s overall presentation. More critically, I noticed that the housekeeper working in the corridor was not using a door stop or blocker. This is not only a safety concern but also a breach of operational standards. If a daily audit had been conducted on the day of check-out, these issues would likely have resulted in a failed inspection, potentially impacting guest satisfaction scores and audit compliance ratings. These are all preventable issues with proper training, supervision, and adherence to protocol. I recommend addressing them promptly to ensure standards are consistently met and audit risks are minimized.

I travelled to Newport in April as the town is having an art revival called the City Box Takeover.where local artists but their own unique talents on electrical boxes etc.I decided to stay at the Travelodge Hotel as it is 5 min walk from the train station and 5 min from the town centre.The Travelodge was extremely good value for money.I found the staff professional and easy to talk to,most are locals so have abundance of information concerning Newport which they are happy to share.My room was bright.airy and very well maintained.
