Travelodge Newport Central

Stayed in this hotel for a few days with my partner yassine who was a great help was at reception who helped us get checked in and sorted, if anytime we needed something he would be there to help and always made us feel welcome. Would 100% come again.

stayed at this hotel for a surprise reunion with an ex co worker, Yasim on reception checked us in es very welcoming and helpful the hotel was very clean and gave us a comfortable stay/

Incredible customer service from the staff team, so helpful, warm and kind. Exceeded expectations with their help and support when checking in. Room (and hotel) was exceptionally clean, tidy, welcoming, beds and pillows were comfy and extra pillows were already in the room. Convenient for the train station and for nearby secure parking.

Lovely hotel and nothing wrong with the room or staff, great overall. However if you are a light sleeper I recommend bringing hearing protection as outside is extremely loud with people shouting, playing music and revving engines. (We did stay at a weekend). Some guests came home late at night (around 1am) too which woke me up by having loud conversations outside.

Enjoyed our stay here at Travelodge Newport. Check in was very easy Staff very friendly and helpful, having never been to Newport before. Lovely comfy beds and good facilities. Excellent location, with easy access to road network. Would definitely stay again.

I booked a room for my director who was delivering a training event in Newport early the next morning. He arrived at the hotel at 10:30pm to be told there was a leak in his room and they had no more rooms available for him to stay in. The best they could offer was a 23 min taxi ride to Cardiff and a room at their hotel there. Having phoned around 3 other local hotels and been told that they were all full, he reluctantly took the taxi to Cardiff. It meant he had to get up extra early the next morning to make it back to Newport in time to deliver his training course. When I raised this with the hotel the next day they told me the room had been outbooked which is when the hotel has somehow overbooked and guests are offered alternative accommodation. Having explained that this was different to the leak story that he had been told the previous night, the customer service rep then changed her response and said there was indeed a leak. Despite multiple emails the hotel has refused to offer a refund for the room because the alternative room in Cardiff (23 min away) was accepted. The room was accepted as there was no local alternative. All they have offered to pay is the train from Cardiff back to Newport the following morning. The hotel claims to have tried to make contact before arrival to let us know if the leak / outbooking. We had two calls from Suspected Spam which may / may not be from the hotel that afternoon/evening. There was no message left and no email sent. Really appalling service. We will not be using Travelodge again.
