Cherryhill Lodge

Patricia and John were such warm and welcoming hosts I stayed s/c in the loft for two days which was beautifully spacious, well equipped and with lovely views -so tranquil found it hard to get going! The loft was booked the third night so moved to the Garden room,B and B, in the main house. Home was simply and beautifully furnished and wow what a view of the Mourne Mountains and the hosts beautiful garden Wonderful breakfast too with home made breads and preserves Thankyou Patricia and John for a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cherryhill Lodge. Patricia was a fantastic host and the breakfasts she prepared were absolutely delicious! The accommodation was clean, warm, welcoming and in a great location. There is easy access to Tollymore Forest Park by foot. The adorable Daisy dog was an additional delight.

This house is in such a beautiful place the garden. You sit and look out at it as you have your breakfast in the morning. The loveliest couple own it and are so welcoming. The woman make homemade granola, pancakes and freshly speezed juices. They really go about and beyond and their price is very good for what you get. They also have the sweetest little dog Daisy who snuck in to see us at breakfast time. Can't recommend this place enough and will definitely be back.

This B&B was the perfect place to stay! The owners Patricia and her family were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. The home has a beautiful view of the well kept gardens and the Mourne mountains in the background. My friend and I stayed in the two rooms in the house, which were roomy, modern and very comfortable. Each room has a separate very modern bathroom. There is a sun room upstairs with a view of the gardens and mountains. There is also a patio with chairs and benches in the garden for relaxation. There were many choices for breakfast, and everything was fresh and delicious. The B&B is close to town, but far enough away that it is relaxing. Their dog Daisy is a delight! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!!

We stayed in the Garden room, lovely room with fabulous view looking out at the mountains and forestry and the owners lovely garden. Bathroom was great, very modern with a rain shower which we loved and toiletries were excellent quality. Lovely touch was home baked treats left in our room.. Also, lovely little sun room next door to our room with a small fridge. Breakfast was excellent, especially the home made granola, yoghurt and fruit pot. Lovely hosts, very friendly,,really enjoyed our stay. About a 20 minute walk to Newcastle main street , we like walking, not a problem for us. Lovely quiet , peaceful location .

We had the best visit to Newcastle at the Cherryhill Lodge for 3 nights. Two friends traveling together and we each had our own room in the main house. I had the Garden Room, and waking up to the beautiful mountain view each morning made my recently fractured ankle a little more bearable. The rooms were spacious with great walk-in closet space and comfortable beds. Patricia and her family were so accommodating, helping with my luggage and making us feel so welcome and comfortable. She had plenty of recommendations for things to see and do in the area, which was very helpful since I could not get around very well. We wound up ordering takeout dinner in a few nights and used the upstairs sunroom (fantastic view) as well as the outside patio/garden to eat. We were provided plates, glasses and water which was really appreciated. Breakfasts were delicious and abundant… you will not go hungry here. We even had fresh fruit from the garden. The unexpected bonus was their sweet little dog named Daisy (they will keep her away if you don’t like dogs, but it would be hard not to fall in love with Daisy). Newcastle was a great town to visit and I would absolutely stay at Cherryhill Lodge again. There are some hiking trails accessible from the B&B, plus just a few minutes from Tollymore Forest, which was well worth a visit.
