The Surrey A Corinthia Hotel

From the moment we arrived we knew this would be special. We have stayed at the corinthia in London but this boutique property is much more intimate. Newly opened the decor is gorgeous but not fussy. Room very comfortable and the quietest room I have ever stayed in NYC ever. Possibly quieter than my own home. The concierge team works magic getting you reservations and recommendations. Casa Tua is the house restaurant and the food is as good as Italy. Lovely European service throughout with attentive door team makes the coming and goings like returning to your own private staff. They also have a house car that when not in use can squire you in comfort to local destinations. This experience reminded me of LaReserve Paris but with an Italian flair instead of French. Gracious staff great linens and towels. Any issue attended to quickly and efficiently. I cannot imagine wanting to stay anywhere else now in NYC Congratulations to the Corinthia team and thank you for an amazing week we cannot wait to return. Your team made being in NYC hassle free and fabulous.

This newly renovated hotel is a perfect combination of sophistication and warmth. We were greeted with sincere hospitality from the doormen. All of whom were gracious and charming. Julio ( he said most people call him Julio Iglesias ) and Will ( needs to be an actor!) greeted us at the door as well as the front desk associates (Anthony, Margaret, Jonathan and many more!) who were over the top warm and welcoming. Our suite was beautiful. We overlooked Madison Avenue. It was lovely. The decor is well lit and things operate beautifully. The closet is a walk in closet and the 1/2 bath is a nice touch. I was greeted with a “ happy birthday “ cake and champagne. Every single employee we encountered, from the doormen (wish I knew all names!) to our fabulous concierges ( Carlos Johannes Daniel and Harald) made wonderful restaurant and jazz recommendations and front desk associates, to the housekeepers and anyone we can across within the hotel, had a smile and a greeting for us. The restaurant and bar Casa Tua, was fabulous. The decor makes you feel like you are in someone’s beautiful home. Gorgeous artwork and books and sculpture. Try the bananas foster brioche French toast. Go shopping with the help of the 24 hour complimentary car available to its guests. And what a difference. We’ve stayed elsewhere where the car is available only beginning at 11 am and was rarely available anyway. After a day of shopping, stop by the gorgeous bar and be greeted by the most elegant host. I detected beautiful Italian accents within Casa Tua which added to the ambiance. Between the hospitality and the ambiance of this newly and elegantly renovated hotel, The Surrey is more than we could have ever hoped for. Thank you too, to Renee, in customer service, who checked on us via a phone call to make sure our stay was to our liking. Poor Renee, I went on and on about how fabulous the hotel is and its team of outstanding and gracious professionals! We look forward to returning! Beautifully renovated recently and no expense was spared! Noah Durliat front desk manager welcomed us and was delightful. When he found out it was my birthday weekend he made several special arrangements for us including a room upgrade and a birthday cake on my birthday. The mini bar was like no other I have ever seen! It has everything you could possibly imagine, including a lime wedge for your cocktails. The complimentary car service was also an unexpected treat. The BMW 7 series with massaging seats was luxurious and Kevin was an excellent driver!! We will definitely be back and will highly recommend The Surrey to all our friends traveling to NYC.

The Surrey hotel just re- opened in October 2024 after an extensive renovation. Everything about it is fantastic. It is in a great upper east side location, the staff is extraordinary and they all strive to exceed any expectation you may have. Noah at the front desk was especially attentive and went above and beyond! The room was comfortable and lovely. Beautiful linens and those extra thick windows that keep out the city noises. I am a Bemelmans fan because I love the decor, feel and vibe. The Surrey lounge is, of course, more modern but equally as intimate, clubby, great decor and equally great vibe! Book a stay - you wont be disappointed. I am definitely a fan and going back!

This is a special place. If you are looking for a refuge from the bustling streets, or just desire a nice stay on the upper east side, consider this hotel. It's lovely (the details!), it's comfortable (Frette linens, and for once, plenty of pillows on the bed with another in the closet--I live in pain and pillows are a must at night) and it's quietly elegant, but it's the staff who really make it special. Need something? They'll get it, or help you get it. Something in the room not right? They'll make it right. I only ordered room service once, but it arrived at precisely the time I selected on the door hanger menu/form (and yes it was delicious and beautiful). I suspect greeter at the restaurant may not be with The Surrey, as her attitude was a bit of a departure from the people inside the hotel. The men at the front door of the hotel are helpful, charming and gracious. Housekeeping staff are worth their weight in gold. Margaret at the front desk is absolutely darling. Exceedingly competent, she behaves in a way that I can only assume makes every guest feel as welcome as I did. I'm usually ready to go home after any trip but this time I absolutely did not want to leave; Margaret and her colleagues at The Surrey are a significant reason for it. Many thanks to you all.

From the moment we arrived our stay was magical! The service is incredible! The decor, large room size and large bathroom is so refreshing for NYC! The quietest hotel we have ever stayed at in NYC. We never heard one siren. The neighborhood is full of fantastic shops and restaurants! Central Park is a few blocks away. The products in the bathroom were amazing! It is all about the small details and The Surrey has it all! Eyeglass cleaning cloth at the bed side. Frette slippers placed at the comfortable bedside during turn down. The ambience and vibe of the hotel bar is inviting and of course, Casa Tua is delicious! Book this hotel immediately!
