This was my second stay at the TWA hotel, the first one being during the pandemic so I gave them a pass then. However, nothing's improved. I had to dis(-pleasure) of staying at the TWA hotel in July 2025 when our JetBlue flight was cancelled around midnight and the next flight was the following night. The positives: the hotel is a 45-second walk to the JetBlue terminal (can't beat that) and the theme (mid-century modern is hard to beat; I mean, what a fabulous idea to convert the old TWA terminal to a hotel). The negatives: the execution is so poor, it makes me wanna cry. My kid went swimming (free for hotel guests before 10:45 am) and picked up a half dozen pieces of the concrete on the bottom of the pool. This hotel is only like 5 years old and it is already falling apart!!! The theme of neglect continued throughout our stay - the shampoo setup in the shower was falling apart, the fridge in the room was warm and the "guts" of it falling out, the blinds were not synchronized so that one of the blinds was dragging on the floor while the other two were still above floor level. All relatively minor issues, if it was not for a nearly $600 a night cost. Bottom line: This is the only airport hotel at JFK, so it beats taking a taxi or subway back to Manhattan if your flight is cancelled. And they know it. For the price, it is really not good enough. Glad my delay was paid for by my travel insurance. If I had to pay close to $600 out of pocket for this, I'd be very upset.
