Pros…very clean and comfortable well kept property. Cons…No innkeeper on premises when we were there. Efficient check in but impersonal. We did call the posted phone number and they efficiently fixed the bathroom light while we were out. The robes were a bit stiff and tires looking. One small and one large so I didn’t get to use mine. The towels were large and very soft and fluffy. We signed up for 9:30 breakfast and arrived at 9:15. I asked the women in the staff area if there was anything we needed to do. She said just sit down. We were the only ones in the dining room. At 9:50 I sought her out and asked if breakfast was being served. She asked what we wanted and promptly presented us a delicious and attractive breakfast. Poor communication. Again very impersonal. After asking, she told us to hand her our keys at check out. Unusual atmosphere for a small inn or B&B.

We’ve stayed at this The Homestead Inn every year for the past four years and it never disappoints. We’ve enjoyed rooms in both the Annex and the main building—always clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. Check-in and checkout are a breeze, and the tea, coffee, and snack station is a lovely touch. The staff is outstanding, consistently attentive and detail-oriented, making each stay feel effortless and welcoming.

What a lovely little Inn. My daughter and I stayed in the Stars Hollow room as part of a Gilmore Girls themed getaway. My daughter was over the moon for the Gilmore Girls (signed) paraphernalia. Antonio was delightful to deal with through reservations (made MONTHS ahead) to breakfast to our departure. We loved our room. Everything about the Inn and our stay was top notch

We stayed two nights at the Homestead Inn in the Treadwell annex #3 at the end of April, 2025. The room was VERY clean, king size bed was comfy with lots of pillows and a great blanket. The mini split delivered as much AC as we wanted, was easy to adjust the temperature to the coolness we wanted AND made no noise. In the winter it provides heat. There is also a heat lamp in the bathroom which was nice to have. A couple times we had the mini split cooling the bedroom and the heat lamp making the bathroom toasty. The room wasnt fancy but it made up for it by having an extra room with two single beds and a 2nd TV. There was also a large bathroom with plenty of hot water. AND ANTONIO. IMHO, among all the great things about the Homestead Inn, the VERY BEST was ANTONIO. He was amazing. Any little things we needed he was there in a flash. When we first arrived, I had to call him about something. He was at dinner with friends and seemed to arrive so quickly, I thought he must have taken a magic carpet. He took care of the issue in 2 minutes. The next day I needed some scotch tape to wrap a present and there he was giving me the tape to use. Altho we didnt stay in the main house, we were welcome to the coffee, tea and treats that were always in the Dining Room. One night when I was in the main house eating a cookie he and I started talking. It was a wonderful conversation. I feel like I got to know him a bit and so glad we were able to make a connection. He is a 100 STAR person. That night there were a huge number of beautiful tulips in buckets of cold water waiting to be arranged in vases. He suggested I should pick one and gave me a vase to take it back to my room. It was lovely. And there was NO outside noise from traffic or people talking or playing loud music. You can easily walk into downtown New Milford where there are restaurants and shops. When we return to New Milford, we will be sure to stay at the Homestead Inn.

We can't say enough good things about Homestead! We rented the cottage for a pre-wedding gathering for the bride to get dressed and ready for her big day. Antonio and his staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The unit was cozy and spacious enough for the bride and her ladies to get dressed for the wedding on New Milford Bandstand. Every detail was absolutely perfect and magical. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a bit of pampering and coziness.
