For that baby-back rib dinner: the Gristmill in Gruene, TX is a great place for dining, also only a 5-7 minute drive. Schlitterbahn WaterPark, the #1 rated water park in the USA by Good Morning America, is only a 10 minute drive away. The McKenna Children's Museum located downtown on San Antonio Street and will provide hours of fun and memories for you and your kids.
Should this be an adult weekend: you will find great restaurants as well as dancing at the Gruene Hall (the oldest dance hall in Texas) in Gruene, Texas. Famous musicians frequent this arena, so check the calendar for specific appearances. The many golf courses and wineries provide great variety for any one choosing this area to vacation or just to get away for a quick weekend!
