This is regarding the situation with Lisa, my mother. The hotel is also lying about pressing charges against her on google maps reviews, has attacked her likeness, attacked her physically, and left her feeling anxious and embarrassed. The police and lawyers have said to take it to court and/or leave bad reviews, and that's what we're doing. Can't fight with the truth.

The worst experience I have ever had in my 35+ years of travelling and staying in hotels. Physically assaulted by angry wife of management and completely humiliated by the absolute bully of an owner. Evicted me without warning and denied me of retrieving my personal belongings, or even being able to use the toilet before marching me out to the road in my pajamas and nothing else. The owner then took my photo without my permission and proceeded to humiliate me more by showing everyone my face on his phone. Their behaviour is disgusting and I wouldn't wish my experience on anyone else. Perhaps you need to chain up the Rottweiler after a certain time of night.

This is a terrific hotel of a very high standard, even though its location feels very industrial. Our room was huge, with a king and single bed, and comfortable chairs. The bathroom was beautifully presented, with a very large shower. If you stay here, you need a car to get about. It's located about 15 minutes from the CBD of Nelson and 10 minutes from shops and restaurants around Richmond. There is a cafe attached to a peanut butter factory next door, but otherwise there are no shops within walking distance. Across the road is Saxton Field, a massive sporting complex of ovals and stadiums, which is nice to walk around, however the surrounds are full of warehouses and big box stores. The hotel is on a roundabout, with a very busy road alongside that creates a lot of noise, especially in the morning. The windows are quite effective in blocking much of the noise and the curtains were good in preventing the bright street lights from disturbing our sleep. The hosts Dion and Alexandra were attentive and friendly. I enjoyed meeting and talking with them. A few of the guests were not too considerate by banging doors and thumping around their floors, but you get that in the best of hotels. There was a large group of construction workers staying whose early starts were a bit disturbing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and even though it's a bit out of the way for getting to and from the CBD of Nelson, we recommend it.

We recently attended a wedding in Nelson and where recommended the Saxton Lodge. We have nothing but praise for Dion and his team. The rooms were very spacious, bathrooms clean and tidy, and beds thankfully very comfortable. Close to airport it was breeze getting in and out as was the proximity to our venue. We are definitely going back!
