Kurialacherry House Alleppey

We had a delightful 2 night stay at Kurialacherry House. The property is beautiful, right on the water with well cared for gardens. The rooms are set apart from the house and feel very private. The hospitality is excellent, Jacob and his family were very kind and Sreekumar looked after us so well. We did the sunrise canoeing and an hour on the Shikara boat at sunset, the rest of the time we just chilled by the water, watching the adorable geese go by and trying to tempt the cute cats to come and see us. Highly recommend this retreat over a houseboat, which we've read are causing a lot of pollution in the backwaters.

Well maintained homestay un lovely surroundings by the river and padi fields Lovely garden .You can see over 30 open country birds Local walks easy to really experience backwater life .Activities and boat trip can be booked .Good meals available with local produce , 600 R per person .Team are friendly and attentive .Peaceful holiday break .Thank you

We stayed for one night and it was superb..we stayed in the room thats on their poster and it is v spacious with authentic rustic feeling n decor-highlight was the verandah opening onto the lake and the wooden walls and steps within the room that led to a balcony on the first floor- a cosy resort with lot of open space n spacious living space and amazing hospitality…the owner Jacob is v involved in the whole resort and personally ensures the guests comfort..the location is to-die-for with our room and verandah opening onto the beautiful lakeside..resort offers lot of activities but sadly we didnt hav time for it..the evning snacks and breakfast ws tasty n piping hot..ask the caretaker for customising the menu but opt for local food..he also arranged for an autorickshaw (tuk-tuk) for us for dinner at a local toddy-house..only drawback is that we got a bit lost on our way to resort initially but jacob helped us out there..

I stayed with my wife and 3 kids (9, 13, 14) in December. The homestay was wonderful. The cabins are lovely and comfortable, the setting was stunning, the activities (including kayaking and a cooking demo) were great and the food was some of the best we had in India. The owners and manager were friendly and accommodating hosts. I would very much recommend Kurialacherry if you’re visiting this part of Kerala.

Gorgeous location with very friendly people. The food is delicious and catered to our small children well. No request was small enough. It felt like we were staying with family! Wish we had stayed more than 1 night but we will definitely back for longer!

I want to keep kurialacherry house a secret but that would be unfair… This is what peace looks and feels like. Sitting on the river bank watching the houseboats go by surrounded by nature, watching mongoose play in the bushes and the family of geece cross the garden to wash and bathe, yoga on the terrace and incredible food. Delightful owners and kind, attentive staff (Mr Kumar!). I will be back. Please don’t ever change…
