I wouldn’t recommend this place for the following reasons: 1. The place looks spacious in the photos, but in reality, it’s much smaller. I booked this room because it looked full of daylight. However, the place doesn’t have big windows, and the houses nearby are taller, so it’s relatively dark in the room, even during the day. 2. The place is very dirty, and I’m talking not only about a filthy carpet. Once, I saw a cockroach under the glass of the night table beside my bed. Another time, I saw some sort of bug in a cupboard where I kept food, so I had to clean the cupboards myself until I could put my food inside. Additionally, I was given only one towel for my hands, legs, and body for the whole week. Since you can’t properly hang it to dry, this is definitely not enough, as the towel was always wet. In the end, I had to use my own travel towel because the one I had was simply too wet and dirty to use. 3. The place was only partly ready for new guests when I arrived. The first night there was no light in the shower, and when I wrote to Anastasia, the host, about the situation, she managed to fix the issue only the next day. Therefore, I spent the first day without a shower even though I had a very long journey to Kenya, and a shower was something I was really looking forward to. Besides, the next day, the gas for cooking finished. It took the team almost half a day to replace it. As a result, I was left without breakfast and lunch that day, and since I had to work, I couldn’t go to town. 4. The host is particularly indifferent. When I asked for mosquito spray (the place is full of them!), she gave me one only the next day. On top of that, a spray bottle was basically empty, even though Anastasia claimed it was a new bottle and she even had a receipt. I don’t know the real situation, but what I know is that I sprayed it four times and it ended. I had to buy a new bottle of mosquito spray myself, even though in the house rules it was written that it’s provided. 5. There is no hot water in the shower. Though there is a switch for hot water in the shower, the water was just a little warm. In winter, when temperatures can drop to +15 in the morning, you won’t be able to shower with this heater. I had to boil water in a pot and mix it with this “heater” water to shower in the mornings. 6. The place seems to be in an unsafe location. When my tour operators picked me up from this location, they told me to be careful and not to walk at night. Besides, Anastasia herself told me that some laundry had been stolen, so you basically can’t even do the laundry because there’s no proper and secure place to hand your wet clothes (again, in the house rules, there was written you could easily do it and hang it on the roof; apparently, you can’t). 7. The electricity has a tendency to go down, and the internet is unstable. During my stay, I was working, so electricity and a stable internet connection were something that I inquired about before my arrival. Anastasia c
