The Royal Blue a Luxury Beach Resort

Who was travelling? Family, 4 adults How long was our stay? 10 days We had an excellent experience in the Royal Blue Resort in September 2024!!! More Details: Rooms: We stayed the first days for full relaxation in the Azure Blue Residence and it was amazing. Two bed rooms with ensuite bath room, living room, separate bathroom, kitchenette, living and dining room, own private pool, own parking lot. Space, space, space; privacy, privacy, privacy - believe me, we all loved it. Afterwards we moved to the Superior Suites Sea View to be as close as possible to the sea. What should I say other than: another excellent experience I can only recommend as well! Service Staff: If anybody asks where to find super friendly, real and authentic hospitality in Crete, my clear answer is: visit The Royal Blue Resort. Thank you very much to each and every single one on the team, it was a pleasure to stay with you. Food: Excellent, nothing more to be added. Beach: Sandy beach in artificial bay, enabling swimming independently from the tides. We loved it! Gym: well equiped, clean, air conditioned - nice experience SPA: Variety of services, I chose a relaxing massage - amazing experience Summary: We can highly recommend a stay at The Royal Blue Resort in Crete. TRY IT!

My wife and I booked the Royal Blue Resort for our wedding anniversary. They really went above and beyond to welcome us and ensured we had a brilliant stay. They provided us with an anniversary cake and drink on arrival, and upgraded us to a sea view room. All the members of staff and management at the hotel were so friendly and attentive. This is a beautiful hotel and spa resort, in a stunning position. Care and attention to detail has gone into the design of the place to ensure you are relaxed and enveloped in the restful atmosphere from the minute you arrive. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, they ensure you are happy and have everything you need, without being intrusive. Special mention for the gorgeous beach area, the cabanas are a delight when you need a little escape from the heat, Vassilis who oversees the beach area is so kind and friendly, and full of information about the island. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the welcome treats were a lovely touch. The main restaurant Symposium offers a wide selection of dishes each evening, something for every taste, the quality of the food was excellent, the chefs were always willing to accommodate requests from guests and were always cheery during dinner service. Breakfast was equally good. The restaurant staff are attentive and efficient, special mention to Maria who greeted us each morning and evening that we were there, and was tirelessly cheerful and smiley. My partner and I loved every second of our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and we would gladly return soon!

We stayed for 10 days on a full board basis at the beginning of September. We travelled as a couple. I must say that prior to leaving, after reading some of the reviews, we were concerned. We have been lucky to stay in some fantastic hotels throughout Greece and were looking for a relaxing hotel with great staff and excellent food. Our room was comfortable, the A/C was very good (it was very hot and humid during our stay) and the products available in the bathroom great. We could always get a sunbed where we wanted and there was always plenty of clean towels for us to use. The adults only pool was relaxing and quiet and a great spot for the aqua aerobics which myself and my husband enjoyed. I used the gym, which although basic, had enough equipment to give you an all round workout and I also used the spa for a massage. The lunch at the pool was absolutely superb, being full board we could choose pretty much everything and every dish we had was simply fantastic, we couldn’t fault it. We had amazing seafood Orzo, mussels in a most amazing sauce and superb pasta dishes, we couldn’t fault anything. Every lunch was served by friendly, welcoming and professional staff, the heat in the kitchen must have been phenomenal, but the quality and presentation never faltered. We also paid extra for the Menu degustation and wine pairing as a treat one evening and had a superb 6 course meal, all beautifully cooked and presented accompanied by generous wine pairing, all served by a great team. The drinks although good quality, could do with a different style of presentation at each bar, and the Gin and tonics would benefit from a different style of presentation and different aromatics just to make it a bit different. Breakfast was really good, absolutely everything you could ask for, great variety. We found that for the evening meal, the grilled meat on the meat counter was always pop fantastic, the quality of the food is good, however the variety and choice some evenings could be improved. The salads were very samey and a little more variety would be good. The evening entertainment at the hotel was not really apparent, we went into Panormas by the little train that stops outside the hotel and had some drinks there and we also used the sister hotel over the road for drinks (fabulous drinks and choice) and they also had some pleasant live music. You can also use the facilities at this hotel should you wish. The grounds in the garden were really well planted and kept really lovely and tidy. One suggestion would be for the hotel to allow a discount in the a la carte restaurants / event evenings if you are on a HB basis Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. It was very relaxing, the staff worked very hard to look after everyone and the lunch time meals were delicious and we would recommend staying here.

We have just experienced a wonderful week away in this stunning resort! The Royal Blue is a modern purpose built and nicely landscaped complex which is completed to a very high standard. There is both an adult only pool along with a main salt water larger one, which are both kept very clean. In addition, there is a man-made beach ensuring there is somewhere for everyone to enjoy. There was never any problem in September with finding very comfortable sunbeds (unlike other venues) and the poolside Alati restaurant was simply exceptional. Both the professionalism of the staff there and quality of food was so good! Many thanks to Babbis and Aspesia and the rest of the team for looking after us so well. We enjoyed a daily breakfast and evening meal at the main restaurant Symposium. There was always a good food selection on offer and catering for all tastes. Breakfast was accompanied by stunning views across the pool and out to sea and on occasions an excellent Cellist would serenade us. Now for our apartment - we chose a Luxury sea-view suite with a huge balcony. Not only was it beautiful, spacious and quiet but it was very well laid out and offered all facilities needed for our stay. If I could find one small negative, it was that our apartment floor was dirty and despite asking via the hotel app and calling reception, it never got cleaned. There were many lovely touches arranged by the staff such as a delicious Anniversary Chocolate Mousse cake and Prosecco in our room for our arrival, along with a cold sandwich (we were late arrivals). Around the main pool area staff would bring around fresh fruit for sunbathers to enjoy. Cold flannels were bought to us on a particularly hot day. Towards the end of our stay we were delighted to receive a 'Thank you' gift too in our room. We never experienced any of the A La Carte restaurants on their 'Degustation events evenings' as we found the cost excessive (90 euro per head), given we had already paid for an evening meal in with the price of our stay. For those that wished to have a different dining experience, there was a small land train that ran regularly (not on time!). It stopped outside the hotel and took you into Parnormas, where you could find several nice restaurants and bars (Kastro and Agkira were our favourites). The Thea cocktail bar offered occasional live music and a DJ which was quite popular. The cost of good spirits were quite steep, whilst wine and beer were more affordable. One evening we ordered a bottle of wine and the staff kindly gave us a complimentary platter of cheese to enjoy. We never tried the Spa treatments due to the weather being so gorgeous that we wished to spend all of our time outside. Overall we had a fantastic time at The Royal Blue Resort and would highly recommend for a very relaxing holiday.

This hotel is lovely. Very clean and a good sized, warm main pool. There's also the option to use the enclosed beach area which is also very pleasant. The staff are friendly and helpful and our room was clean and fresh and comfortable. A good choice of food in the main restaurant where we ate every evening. Nice bar areas and this hotel is quiet, no loud music so would recommend for those seeking a peaceful, relaxing holiday.
