This was my 5th stay and also perhaps my final one. I have always preferred to stay at the Himalayan Club despite its deficiencies. A good location, room size and that its near the mall are the only plus points. Having said that my current stay was the worst in terms of service, we were checked into a room where the toilet seat was totally broken in 2 pieces - after much complaining and reluctantly we were shifted to another room which was not serviced, the bed the tables and toilet were not cleaned - perhaps just handed to us after a check out. It took constant complaining to get the room properly cleaned - they kept telling my wife the room is clean. While I understand the policy of the hotel to sell the room included with Breakfast, they are not at all equipped to handle adequate breakfast is available for all guests. At breakfast time - Everyone was waiting for food to arrive, they could only arrange very small quantities which were totally inadequate for the number of people at the breakfast buffet. - We had to wait for 10-15 minutes after which also there was not food - We decided to walk out as things were not improving and people already at the buffet before us were frustrated and angry about the in-availability of food and no improvement in the situation. - We reported this at the reception but were only told to wait. - Finally decided to pay for the breakfast from the a - la - cart menu and were immediately served :-) Benefit of hindsight this seemed like a scam to earn the extra 500-600 rupees. I am not writing this review for revenge or for getting any refunds, just wanted to share with the management that you have a great property and a great opportunity, not having trained staff to handle servicing and breakfast planning just lost you a loyal customer and for others to take note of the same in case booking during peak season.
