My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was overall enjoyable, with several notable highlights. The hotel’s location near the beachfront is fantastic, offering stunning views of Muscat and the surrounding mountains. The interiors are beautifully designed, featuring natural materials that create a luxurious and calming atmosphere. The rooms were ultra-comfortable, with excellent beds and top-quality linens that made for a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful in-room amenities, including good tea, a Nespresso machine, and water in glass bottles—a healthy and eco-friendly touch. The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided were of great quality, and the dental kits were decent. However, I did notice that some toothpaste tubes weren’t fresh, as the paste had become solid and dry in a few sets. Additionally, the shaving kit was of the cheapest level, which didn’t align with the otherwise high standards of the hotel. Breakfast was good but not quite up to the level typically expected from Mandarin Oriental. There’s definitely room for improvement here, but I believe this is something the hotel will refine over time. The staff were polite and professional, which added to the overall positive experience. Considering the hotel is still new, I’d rate the overall experience, including the price/value ratio, as 3.5 out of 5. I’m confident that with time, the hotel will address these minor gaps and elevate the experience to match the impeccable standards the brand is known for.

It was unfortunate we couldn’t get to check in earlier because we arrived earlier so we stayed at the lobby for 9-10 hours despite many emails sent to give them a heads up. Overall our stay was decent. Breakfast was good and service was good too.

Nous avions réservé une chambre pour 2 nuits avec vue sur piscine pour terminer notre périple de 15 jours à Oman. La jeune employée nous a proposé une chambre avec vue sur la rue â notre arrivée. Déception! On lui a fait savoir et cette erreur a été réparée de suite. Belle piscine oû l'on peut vraiment nager, excellent petit déjeuner, literie confortable, belle plage à proximité et excellent service de ”car Wash” à la station shell à proximité pour restituer notre vehicule de location avant le retour dans la grisaille de l'automne en France. Beaucoup de charme pour cette grande demeure familiale réaménagée oû l'on a pu se reposer comme à la maison!

A new and trendy looking hotel in Muscat with a Great beautiful swimming pool. Conveniently located to the stunning Royal Opera House and Boulevard shopping/dining mall. Rooms and large and spacious with balconies and terraces. Staff is friendly and provide excellent service. Hotel has good selection of restaurants (steakhouse, excellent Chinese restaurant). The only drawback is lack of private beach, especially for those who prefer to swim in the sea.
