Ikos Oceania

This was the 3rd Ikos hotel we have stayed in over the last 18 months but the first on a Deluxe basis. Our room was beautiful overlooking the deluxe pool and the ocean beyond. Spotlessly clean with an evening turn down service. There are 5 restaurants on site- 4 of which are a la carte. The standard of food in the a la carte restaurants are fabulous . The food in the buffet restaurant is really good too but being honest, we kind of avoided it. Even though this is a family hotel with some designated adult only areas, the high ceilings in the Flavours buffet mean that the sound in this area is amplified and it feels very school canteen ish - even in the adults only areas. That said, it wasn't a big deal for us as the choice of other options is so good. Service by the deluxe pool area was seamless and discrete. The food choices there for lunch are wonderful. The staff there are brilliant- nothing is too much trouble which made for a great experience. The online concierge what'sapp group was so quick and convenient but again, all underpinned by fantastic staff. The staff here without exception are the jewel in the crown of this hotel. There are a couple of stand out mentions: Despina at the deluxe pool is a bundle of professional, knowledgeable fun. Her cocktail and food recommendations are sensational and should be on the menu for sure. Maryna who was our deluxe concierge was also excellent . From her initial checking in with us on arrival to her daily check ups just seeing if there was anything else we needed ( we never did) she was flawless. If Ikos does employee of the month, these two ladies would definitely be worthy winners. We wouldn't hesitate to come here again but it would be just perfect if there was a designated adult only area in each of the a la carte restaurants.

The staff, food and drinks are excellent. The staff in the restaurants, at the pool, in the bars, at the beach and in the kids club will help with absolutely anything and are a joy to be around. All of the food is delicious and high quality. Every single restaurant is lovely and it’s hard to choose a preferred place to eat. The drinks are also great and the kids loved the mocktails and milkshakes whilst we loved the wine and the different cocktails. There could be a wider selection of zero sugar drinks but the staff will create something if you ask. The hotel is nice but could do with a little bit of spruce up in places. Our room (2114) was nice but was in no way suitable for a toddler. The garden was at the top of a very steep edge and next to a communal area. The communal area has glass barriers/balcony all around it due to the drop but our garden was not secured in the same way. This meant our toddler could walk onto the outside of the barrier/balcony (essentially the side where he would fall straight down) or through the toddler sized hole in the hedge and down a steep drop or through to any of the other gardens. We reported this and they put a new hedge in and some temporary barriers. The hedge filled the hole but the barriers were easily moved by our toddler. The front door was also easily opened by our little one so he could run straight out. They put a temporary catch on the inside after me asking and then chasing 2 days later but he still managed to open the door. I’d love to give a higher rating but we weren’t able to use the room fully (unable to use the garden at all) and weren’t able to relax in the room. I’d advise anyone staying in room 2114 or other rooms on that level to check the gardens before letting their little ones use them and I have advised the hotel that the rooms are not suitable for toddlers or young children. Hopefully they will make the gardens more secure and less dangerous or avoid putting families in those rooms .

A big thank you to Georgia in the spa at Ikos Oceania for a meticulous shellac manicure today! She was extremely attentive and expert, I am thrilled with the result. I have my nails done a lot at home and am often wary of hotel manicures, but this was perfect, and so was Georgia. Sas efcharistó!

We have just returned from a week's holiday to Ikos Oceania with our one-year-old. We have always chosen Ikos for our summer holidays, and this is our fourth resort visited (previously we have been to Aria, Andalusia, and Olivia). Sadly, Oceania didn't have that luxurious feel like the other resorts, and it has left us questioning whether the service and offerings have dropped across the board or if we were just unlucky this time. Pros: -The pool staff was amazing. A special shoutout to Savvi, who was serving at the kids' pool. She lit up our day and was amazing with our little boy. -The reception was accommodating with our request for additional blackout blinds, as our little one was struggling with sleep -We love the WhatsApp concierge service, although we had a couple of times that we requested drinks/water, and they never turned up -The new QR codes at the pool for ordering were a big hit for us. -The onsite doctor was great with our little one, who developed a chest infection. -Always sun beds available around the pool Cons: -We felt Oceania felt more budget overall, the food quality felt less than that of other resorts, and fewer premium spirits were available. -Often experienced a long wait for room service, which sometimes came cold. The food at the buffet felt very repetitive, and there were not as many low-allergen options as we had hoped. This meant our little one had just chips, bread, and sorbet for most meals. There was also no food out at the kids' section of the buffet during our whole stay. -Our mini bar was only replenished once during our stay; previously, this was daily. -We tried the Creche with our little one. On collection, they shared how he did not settle and was visibly distressed by the time we collected him, and it took us a long time to calm him down. We would have preferred for them to call and let us know so we could either collect him early or go and settle him into the session. As much as we have loved and always recommended Ikos holidays, this trip has left us questioning whether we will return to Ikos next summer, as much as I hope we just got unlucky, maybe early in the season? It's a lot of money to spend to give a second chance. Management advised that our feedback was taken into account. However, that doesn't erase our somewhat disappointing holiday.

Just returned from a week at this beautiful hotel. We first discovered IKOS in May 2015 when the Olivia opened its doors for the first time. That year we had a truly wonderful holiday, and since then we stayed at the Dassia (again on its opening day) and the Aria in its 3rd week. Both hotels were lovely, but didn't quite reach the heights of our Olivia holiday, which we thought could never be matched. Until now!!! We stayed in a panoramic junior suite with an amazing sea view. Had a problem with the bathroom in that the shower screen was fixed to the bath, and the only way to reach the shower controls was by standing under the rain shower.....not always pleasant as the water took a while to warm!!! However, this did not spoil our holiday at all. The beds were very comfortable with amazing pillows and we both slept incredibly well. Although the hotel was full, it never seemed to be crowded. The food in all the restaurants was very good in general, but exceptional in the Beach Club, where we not only had the best meal of the week, but also the service provided by Angela in particular was outstanding. Also deserving of a shoutout is Anne-Marie who kept us very entertained and looked after in Flavors We spent most of our days at the adult only pool, where Eva's regular calls of "everybody good?" "Is mojito time, yes?" kept us well catered for. She was brilliant when we had a massive thunderstorm, running round covering people with towels and keeping us laughing. Final shout out goes to Petros and the team in Guest Relations, who looked after us on arrival and throughout the week. All in all, a truly wonderful week and we will definitely be back

We had superb service, food and drinks at all restaurants and bars. All staff are exception, going above and beyond to make your experience special.
