The Auction House

Room was fine, had to ask for loo roll as wasn't any, however biggest bug bear was apparently the restaurant had been closed for 7 months but was still advertised as american cuisine served from 4-8, can't believe i was the only person who had booked in with this issue, why was it still advertised as serving food when according to staff it hadn't been open fir 7 months , also £15 to park not mentioned when booking, not the Managers fault as she said she would inform head office, not acceptance to missell

We had one of the premium rooms. The one member of staff we saw was nice and welcoming, the bed was comfy and someone obviously had fun decorating. After that it was all quite odd… Fixtures were cheap and not fitted well; the tap twisted about when you tried to use it, the whole disc around the shower controls spun round, the hairdryer kept over heating every few seconds, the only lights in the room were really dim. The main bar / restaurant was shut till 4pm when we checked in and we were told to use the out of hours exit / entrance after 6pm when they would shut again. The out of hours exit was a dark, slippy metal fire escape exiting out the back into some housing court yard. We decided to skip the breakfast between 8-9am and after a luke warm shower in the morning the whole place seemed shut again so we left out the fire escape without seeing anyone. Definitely lots of potential and I wish them well but just too odd for the cost.

This was a nice stay. But there are points for improvement which would make me think again before booking. Starting positive . Staff could not have been more helpful this was good. Anything you asked for they were willing. No secure bagage storage. Bedroom was ok. The bedding and towels clean. Nice decor.Carpet and furnishings like lights and side tables dusty. The carpet needed a good hoover. It was a shame it let the quality of the room down.
