FAUNA Montevideo

We cannot recommend Fauna highly enough. Jeronimo our host was amazing. He provided us with excellent recommendations and helped us make the most of our time while we were there. The hotel location is perfect for exploring the Old Town and there are many delightful cafes and restaurants nearby. Don't worry Jeronimo will help you find the best of whatever you are looking for. The room was very comfortable and immaculate. The common area is so well done. Everything in the hotel has been thought through down to the smallest detail. Trust us this is where you want to be.

Wow what a find in the old town of Montevideo. Jeronimo is an excellent host and offered us much information on where to go and see as well as where to eat. The room was lovely, overlooking the street with a balcony. The sea isn’t far and there are loads of places to eat nearby. I’d definitely recommend.

The proprietor, Geronimo, is a great guy! Bilingual and very helpful with restaurant and other suggestions, He truly cared about our experiences and stay. There is a beautiful common area with fresh fruit, coffee, and open bar available all day. An inviting space to relax. (Also, always great music playlist adding to the welcoming atmosphere). The room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom spacious with a good shower. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were the best! Water and coffee pods were provided daily. Not that it was a problem for us, but there are a few flights of beautiful marble stairs to be negotiated. We arrived at night and the area was shuttered and I was a little concerned/scared. Don't let that deter you, the area is safe and bustling! When you walk through the door of Fauna you are in a peaceful oasis.

If you appreciate excellent taste, quiet retreats and beautifully curated collections, then this is the place for you. We had originally booked 5 nights here, but needed to arrive a day earlier which was helpfully arranged, and we thoroughly enjoyed our entire stay. Walking distance to everywhere, Uber distance to everywhere else, don't hesitate to make Fauna your home away from home. I mean, it's far lovelier than my home, but our shoulders dropped in relaxation the moment we stepped inside.

My husband and I spent 9 nights at Fauna. Without question this was the best hotel experience of our lives. The hotel’s décor is thoughtfully curated and looks as though mid-century modern had a brief fling with art deco. Our room was spotlessly clean, and enormously comfortable. The bathroom was lovely, with enough light and mirrors to allow a woman to apply makeup without squinting. What catapulted our stay into the exceptional was the warmth and hospitality shown by our host Jeronimo. His knowledge and thoughtful recommendations of where to eat, where to go, and what to do were perfect. When we will return to Montevideo, I know where we’ll be staying!

WOW!!! What an amazing stay!! I stayed here for a majority of my time in MVD. On my late night arrival Eduardo greeted me outside the hotel and ensured everything for a seamless check-in. He’s even a great map drawer. The space is SO THOUGHTFULLY curated. The vibe is great. Common area has local liqueurs available to guests at anytime (also fruits too!). The room was very clean. Loved the minimalist vibe. The next day, I met Jeronimo and this guy is amazing! He literally assisted me with any and every question I had. He also set me up with an amazing reservation at Primuseum on Sunday where there were very little options for eating. He provided so many tips and information about Uruguay. The entire staff was available by WhatsApp 24/7. They readily answered any questions I had. This was the best stay and as someone who works in hospitality (airline and hotel), I highly recommend this hotel. This is the place if you are in Montevideo. It’s also near everything along with the best restaurants in the city. STAY HERE!
