Bayside Inn

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of April in room 108, which is the furthest away from the street and therefore very quiet. The disadvantage, however, is that the Wi-Fi practically never reaches this room with a signal. An even bigger disadvantage is that this old motel has no thermal insulation. The air conditioning is right by the bed, you can of course switch it to heating, but you can't really use it at night as the fan blows directly on you when you're lying in bed. As a result, we spent three nights dressed warmly in bed as we only had 56 °F in the room in the morning. Although we turned on the heating during the day, we were always freezing. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this motel at all.

We wanted a budget room, no frills, so we could enjoy the wildlife of Monterey bay....and this is exactly what Bayside is. The room was absolutely fine - comfy bed, clean shower and even a fridge and microwave. We drove which was no issue as we just hopped in the car to go places, but if you don't have your own vehicle this would be a bit far out for you. The walls are a little thin, so we could hear nextdoor's TV, but that didn't cause us an issue, maybe if you were a light sleeper this would be a problem for you. Overall if you want to save money on the accommodation to enjoy the area this would be perfect. Oh and one last point - no breakfast being offered at the moment so bear that in mind.
