This was our base for a Shearings Leisure holiday to see the Little Trains of the Dolomites. The claims about the beauty of the area are well founded. The Lake was not as clear as mentioned but the view of the village (1/2 mile away) and the mountains in the morning sun is unforgettable. There is a free local bus service. Apparently, the rooms do vary. Ours lacked tea/coffee making facilities, and a chair (on which to put my clothes at the end of the day). But it was comfortable, with an excellent bathroom, although sound proofing is not good. The breakfasts are well up to standard and served downstairs behind the bar area. The dining room is large and comfortable. The staff, mainly Eliza, Rebecca and Giovanni are very helpful. The food is based on the South Tyrol cuisine with no compromise to visitor's tastes. There was a revolt of being served 'pink' pork. To get to the two major towns (Bolzano and Trento) nearby takes well over an hour due to the access road being very narrow and winding in constant hair-pin bends.
