Buccleuch Arms Hotel

Stopped off a Moffat when travelling South looking for pub food. Received a lovely welcome and help choosing menu. A drink at the bar then taken upstairs to the dining room. The dinning room could do with a better lay out as it’s such a big room. Regardless we gave a good review because the food was really good, hot, tasty and great choices on menu. The salad I had with burger was the best ever full of beans and seeds. Will definitely stop there again

A brief visit, but will certainly be back! Historic market town hostelry. I have made the mistake of simply driving through this area on the M74, but very pleasant to investigate Moffat town itself. What makes this place exceptional is the people! Very few places I have visited where the hosts are so genuinely interested in you enjoying your stay. Family run and from the warm greeting at reception, through the dining room and excellent cooking, to the patron introducing himself and checking on your comfort and enjoyment. Comfortable bed and refurbished bathroom , terrific range of malts in the bar, and my meals were delicious Great value too, highly commended

Had the best time, went for the new year, never felt so welcome in a hotel. Family run and everyone was amazing. We stayed b&b and it was fantastic huge selection of choice and plentyof it. We also had an evening meal which was also great. Dave and his team should be very proud 👏

These hosts cannot possibly do anymore. They excel at this. At the top level of customer service. Blown away by everything on offer. We visited over night for a wedding and honestly have both said we wish to return. Breakfast was a FEAST and everything incredibly delicious. The veggie cooked. The porridge!!!!

We used the Buccleuch Arms Hotel as our base for a Dumfries & Galloway area motorcycle trip. The hotel is exceptionally well geared up for motorcyclists, walkers and cyclists. We got absolutely hammered with rain on our journey into Moffat and upon arrival the owner Dave could not be more helpful, we were greeted and the bikes put into secure parking, and shown the drying room so all clothing could be dried out ready for the following day. A welcome real ale beer and a lovely meal was served by such lovely and attentive staff, with a single aim to ensure your needs were catered for, they really could not do enough to ensure you were happy and had everything you needed. The food was top quality and tasty, the rooms and facilities very well presented , and the owner Dave helped us out with his extensive knowledge on sat nav devices and route planning, (as the owners are keen motorcyclists themselves) to ensure a great holiday and to show us all the lovely spots of the local area on an extensible mapping and information system. This hotel has it well sorted for not just motorcyclists, but walkers, cyclists and birds or prey eagle watching, so much so we propose to return to do just that. A cracking multi centre hotel that really needs to be experienced, and great value for money. Very well done to all the staff at the. Buccleuch Arms, great overall experience thank you.

Friendly staff spotless rooms and excellent food i'll definitely be back. Excellent base for motorcycles, secure parking, knowledgeable owner who will provide routes and advice. Valeting kit available for your bike, kit drying room and second hand bike gear available. .
