When I first entered the room, I thought everything was fine. When I wanted to turn down the heating for sleep (room was at 26C), it wasn't possible, as this can apparently only be done by the receptionist, which in itself is questionable - but to make it really bad, there is nobody at the reception
between 11pm and 7am. So I opened the window but then some insects came inside and as soon as I closed it again, the temperature went back up. Could not sleep all night. Then additionally found some hairs and sticky spots in the bathroom. According to the receptionist I spoke to in the morning (all staff were very friendly, but not available when I needed them), AC is not available until April 20th, but they don't bother to remove this from the amenities, even though they know it won't be available - false advertising. Breakfast was advertised as "better than a brunch" but is at best a mediocre breakfast, at least for continental standards - again false advertising. Pre bought stuff mostly and the only freshly prepared scrambled eggs were dried at the edges with some almost liquid parts in the middle, came with barely warm sausages. What kind of brunch this is supposed to beat, no idea.
The location itself and the rest is ok, but not being able to sleep ruined my last day in Italy. Every other hotel on my trip had working AC, even the budget 30€/night hotels. To be fair, the staff was friendly and helpful, the bed was decent and there was a nice large balcony.
