Every single review I have ever written here is positive - but I feel I simply must warn travellers about this property. I was just there for one night and just needed a bed and a place to shower. I am not fussy and had low expectations due to the very reasonable rate. To cut to the chase: I think my bed had no mattress. It was very low the the ground and felt exactly like a box spring. I tried and tried to sleep. At one point I piled the one box spring on the other in some sort of “princess and the pea” plan which needless to say did not work. Finally at 3 am I went to the lobby and took a mattress off one of the couches and hauled it back to the room. I was able to get some sleep after that. I am writing this as it is simply unacceptable to treat guests this way. You cannot sell a room - no matter how reasonably - with a bed with no mattress. Luckily the rest of my time in this charming village was delightful but I hope that someone at the property reads this and makes some changes. If the bed in my room was not missing a mattress in error and this is the actual bed - well that is even more appalling. If you do decide to stay here I strongly suggest you check your room first to make sure it has a mattress.

We had a lovely room, with a small balcony,(from where you could view amazing sunsets) with the sound of the sea lapping up the pebbles. Very clean, daily change of towels, and regular clean bedding. Beautiful setting with plenty of good local places to eat, however , sadly the hotel does not have a restaurant, but provides an ok breakfast sat overlooking the bay. Free aircon, or at least included in room price! Very helpful staff, We only had to ask and we were provided with a Kettle and extra pillows. The only real problem was that the bus from airport stopped a 10 minute walk down a cobbled street away, so a challenge if you have heavy suitcases, even wheeled ones! on the whole a lovely restful comfortable hotel, which can be seen all over the town by its tall chimney.

Lovey location in pretty old building. However we would not call this a hotel more B & B as lacking certain facilities like no bar in main building, no beach towels, no glass in room very basic rooms. The pool was major concerned as dirty grime around sites (I took video ) as my wife got bladder infection after 3 days into using the pool the pool is used by non residents whom turned up groups of 8-10 taking up beds & bringing own food & local children ( unsupervised ) using the pool when signs up saying only only food purchased on property can be consumed & children must be supervised at all times. Sunbeds in poor condition. Such a shame as this property could be exceptional unique place to stay.

I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but my mind was put to rest when we arrived at the Olive Press Hotel. Our room was small, but perfect for our stay. Let's face it, you don't go on holiday to spend your time in your room. We could not fault the cleanliness and everyday our room was serviced with clean towels. Our bedding was changed on a regular basis too. If you are expecting luxury, then forget it. We come to Greece, because we want rustic, not 5 star comforts. Whilst the room, lacks tea making facilities, it does have a refrigerator, so go prepared with a travel kettle and you can have your morning cuppa. The only thing I missed was having some private outside space. There are a number of rooms that have a private balcony, but these are at a premium and I am not sure they are really worth the extra cost. Having said that, there is plenty of tables and chairs outside the rooms in the courtyard and restaurant areas, so we were never left wanting. Breakfast is adequate, with enough choice for everyone's dietary requirements. Yes, it’s simple, but there is nothing wrong with that. If you want a full English then go somewhere else. The staff at the hotel were wonderful and friendly. There was one exception, but their job didn't really involve interaction with the guests, so it is an observation, not a criticism. If you want a true Greek experience, then visit the Olive Press Hotel in Molivos. We certainly would recommend a stay there. The location is perfect, right by the sea, there are plenty of sunbeds and just a stroll from the old town itself. One thing is certain, we will be back!

Molyvos is very pretty and the olive press could be amazing. Our room didn't have a balcony which I was aware of when booking. The room had 2 twin beds and we thought it would be a double. The lady on reception said none if the rooms had double beds which I don't think is true. The room had a lovely view upto the castle but could only be seen when leaning out of the window. The room was exceptionally small. The bathroom was a shower tray with a hand held shower head with one of those shower curtains which stick to your legs and the floor was soaked every time it was used. Horrible. The mini fridge was in a built in cupboard which was the tiny wardrobe area . It appeared to be overheating as the top of it got quite hot and was like an airing cupboard for your clothes !! The steps leading upto the room were in disrepair and I nearly fell on the loose brick on the edge of the steps. It was never moved in the week we were there. The swimming pool area could be a lot better. It looked quite tatty and neglected. Lots of broken, uncomfortable sun beds. The bar man was always busy talking to his friends around the bar or on his phone. Pleasant enough but wouldn't hurt to go around and make everything neat and tidy and offer drinks every hour or so. He had time !! The pool was located a little walk to the bar . No food was available either . A shame as it could be so much nicer. I did feel the staff were not particularly friendly either. They seemed to have a couldn't be bothered attitude. On the other hand breakfast was lovely. Gorgeous greek lady who kept an eye on the buffet and topped everything up as needed. Always smiling and cleaning. Beautiful setting for breakfast by the sea. That was a lovely experience. I would stay again if the price was right and in a different room with an upgraded bathroom. Lovely location. It needs some loving attention, some upgrading and management to sort out their staff. Then it would be the best hotel in Molyvos.

Spent a week here in August 2022 through Jet2 Holidays. We were staying in Molyvos for a family wedding, and chose this hotel given its location. The hotel has lots of character given it was once an actual olive press. As previous reviewers have mentioned. it is located down a cobbled road and the main tour operators' buses do not drop you off here. However you can drive down in a car easily and there is parking available. Check-in on arrival was very efficient, and we were shown to our room in the annex. Upon opening the door the first thing we noticed was a cot, which the receptionist said was a request from Jet2. As a childless couple this was quite the surprise, and it was removed very quickly. Our room was apartment-style, with a kitchenette, small table and a additional single bed. The bedroom was clean with a modern feel, and had air conditioning and a large wardrobe. The bathroom had obviously had a recent refurbishment, and had a decent shower. The kitchenette had a good size fridge-freezer, and a kettle for hot drinks was supplied. The room had Wi-Fi but reception in parts of it was very poor, and we had to on occasion stand outside to connect to it. Outside the room there was a communal courtyard with our own table and chairs, and this was a great place to have sundowners at the end of each day and speak with other guests. The hotel supplied towels for the room, but these were not replaced until we asked at reception. Similarly the room was not cleaned at all for the first three days of our stay, and again we had to speak with the hotel staff so sort this. Other reviewers have mentioned noise from the road outside the hotel, but have to admit this did not affect us at all. We had breakfast each day and thought it was adequate rather than amazing. Choice was limited, but the view over the sea made up for this. The hotel previously had a restaurant which served lunch and dinner but this fell victim to Covid and has not reopened- however there is very wide selection of bars and tavernas in Molyvos within walking distance. The hotel is set in a great spot, with its own (pebbled) beach. It supplies sun loungers, though some have seen better days. As has been mentioned, the pool area was a big disappointment- the grounds were unkempt, and again there were broken and dirty sun loungers. Food and drink were available, though you had to pay when you received it rather than adding it to your room bill. There is however a lovely patio area near the lobby entrance where you can have sundowners and watch the sunset. Being there for a wedding and meeting up with lots of friends and family meant we did not spend too much time at the hotel. As a result the negatives did not affect us as much as other reviewers, but the place does need some TLC. Appreciate that it is only a three-star hotel and they have had Covid to deal with, but that does not excuse the lack of upkeep of parts of the property and a somewhat casual a
