Blue Iguana Inn

We were in town for our son's wedding, and while my husband and I stayed at their sister property (Emerald Iguana, which we have stayed at before and love), all our other kids stayed at the Blue Iguana in Casa Alegre and loved it. Both properties are maintained wonderfully, staff is so helpful.

Great stay! Such a cute space! I was lucky enough to get a single room with a huge private patio, which was definitely taken advantage of, sitting in the patio table with a glass of wine. Their pool area is super cute, although I wish it were a little bigger as there were pool floaties being used. They provide towels and sunscreen for your use which is great. Very close to town, whether you want to drive or ride a bike, which they have for for visitors use. Great general outdoor space as well to sit and relax and read a book. Very nice place for a quick stop in Ojai! Will definitely be a top choice when I pass through Ojai again.

Comfortable and charming. We had a King Suite and found lots of room to spread out. There were two of us staying the night and we had a wall between us (priceless). I loved the patios, the lawns, and the jacuzzi. It’s a beautiful facility and the innkeepers were accommodating and caring. I had my coffee on my private back patio and listened to the nearby roosters crowing! Terrific!

Stayed here while visiting family for the Fourth of July, and fun parade in Ojai. Lovely place to stay, beautiful setting, very clean and well-appointed rooms, but a little noisy outside my unit due to street traffic. Great to have a toaster, hot water kettle, small fridge, and coffee maker in the room. But not walking distance to any groceries or restaurants, so be prepared.

As we drove into the Blue Iguana Inn courtyard, we immediately fell in love with the early Californian/Mexican architecture and design. It was rustic and authentic (not fake/new), charming and inviting. We were warmly greeted at the front desk and given a very helpful orientation to the property and all the many amenities. We used the beautiful pool and sitting area, including hot tub, all surrounded by flourishing plants and flowers. Hints of the namesake Blue Iguana could be seen in several mosaic statues/pieces. There were lovely sitting spaces throughout, some in the open, some tucked away, including a 3rd floor/rooftop spot with a good view. Each room had an outdoor sitting arrangement and some had full-sized dining tables and chairs. The rooms were spread over several smaller buildings, much nicer than one long stretch of room after room. Our family of 4 stayed quite comfortably in a 2 BR Bungalow; 2 separate bedrooms, 1 large bathroom, living room, full-sized and equipped kitchen, both indoor and outdoor dining tables, a couple of lounge chairs in our private patio and an adjoining small grassy area. Clay tile floors, rustic old-California decor, very comfy beds, complimentary in-room coffee and tea, internet, TVs all combined to make our stay so enjoyable and relaxing that we all collectively vowed to return and stay longer. Seek out the Blue Iguana Inn; even better for your next group or family stay.

Way exceeded my expectations. Had a great lower King room with a patio. Very hip and funky place. Hosts could not do enough. Spotless, charming room, very well equipped with fridge, microwave, kitchen utensils, plates, even wine glasses.

What a marvelous and magical place the Blue Iguana is! (and we walked around their sister property, the Emerald Iguana, and WOW!). Our experience at the Blue Iguana was a 10 in every regard...the setting, decor, comfy bed, pool and jacuzzi, the staff, etc.

Fabulous bed. Room 8 above office. Huge. Beautiful space. Southwest feel. Above pool just like picture next to this review. Second visit. My wife in nursing rehab care center. I had to get away from everything in Manhattan Beach to attend Teams meeting...12 hours on my bottom. I went out to the pool, really the jacuzzi twice. Ate inside room. Very nice kitchen. Needed milk for cereal. Watered down half and half. Never watched TV...there were two total...both bedroom and living room. Nice shower, nice mature staff at front desk. Bought jewelry and very small animal art for spouse. Left early after second night to see my love, refreshed. Listened to second day of meeting on Pch just north of Malibu.... just what I needed...best? Jacuzzi by self surrounded by unbelievable huge value iguana. Check it out .

Liked it a lot. Unique rooms, somewhat pueblo/western style; very friendly staff. It's a bit out of downtown, for whatever that's worth. Pillows could use some variety, as my wife and I both woke up with sore necks from the unconfigurable, high pillows.
