Blue Rock Bed and Breakfast

I always enjoy my stay with Ed and Stephanie when I come back to visit my friends in my hometown of Lancaster. The rooms are comfortable, food is great and as I've said in a past review, it's like staying at a friend's house. It's always my first choice when I come back home.

We stayed in the downstairs of the house because we thought we were bringing our dog with us. (It would have been perfect if she had come, but we found a last minute sitter for her so she wasn't with us.) The downstairs is really nice if you have a larger group too - a full kitchen, sleeping for 6 or 7 at least, large sitting area with tv, movie library, games, etc. And if you have little kids that could be noisy, they're unlike to bother other guests down there. The space was very cutely and aptly decorated - Amish farm decor - but with all the modern amenities. And it was so clean! No build up of dust anywhere, even amongst all that old wood and fixtures. Breakfast was delicious too, and plentiful. Homemade jams, locally sourced sausage - it's making me hungry again typing this up.

The hosts are kind and considerate. The breakfast was varied and delicious and even featured freshly picked fruit! The accommodations were clean and comfortable. It was a great location for exploring the Lancaster area. We stayed in the Dutchman Suite.

This was a last minute decision to book and I’m so glad I did ! From the excellent customer service to gracious hospitality this B&B is fantastic . Local brewery about 1 block away &about 10 mins from the outlets . The hosts are so personable and really make you feel welcome .

My college English professor at Millersville University told me many times that when practicing technical writing: “Be brief, be clear, but never sacrifice clarity for brevity.” While I have the utmost respect for the late, great Dr. Cynthia Dilgard, I shall decidedly, yet respectfully, break her wise “brevity” rule here in order to write a sufficiently favorable review. And this review is for none other than Ed and Stephanie Hersh at The Blue Rock Bed & Breakfast in Millersville, PA 😊. Stephanie & Ed are some of the kindest and most hospitable people that I have ever met. They run a fantastic B & B. The bedrooms and bathrooms are immaculate and well decorated. The house is warm and inviting in a rural way that is typical of Lancaster County. Stephanie prepares a delicious breakfast, with daily variations. On the last morning of my weekend stay, she served a frittata, fresh fruit, bacon, coffee, and homemade pumpkin bread baked the prior evening! I’ll be returning to Millersville in April of 2024, and it’s perfectly clear where I’ll be staying. I was delighted to get a room at the Blue Rock, and I’ll be back!

We recently stayed at the Blue Rock Bed and Breakfast while visiting our son at a nearby college. Ed and Stephanie were perfect hosts and very accommodating. The B&B was located 5 minutes from the school's campus, which made going back and forth very convenient. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The homemade breakfast was delightful. We hope to return again soon!
