Candlewood Suites Erie

Check in was at 3:00pm on the dot!! Never have I been told to wait 15 minutes before check in. The hotel is a pain to get into. Located right behind the Red Lobster but not accessible from there or the mall area. Only 1 way in and out, can't cross over to entrance have to make a loop. Just an inconvenience at first. My room was spacious, which is what I've come to expect at a Candlewood. I've stayed at this "brand" before with much nicer accommodations. The pool was small and confined. The kitchen in my room could have had a few more items. One fork was okay because it was just me. My bed was comfortable and I did get a good nights rest and the shower had plenty of pressure, which is a plus. The hallway was obstructed by 3 large laundry bins the whole time I was there. You would think those would have been put in the laundry room after housekeepers left for the day. No continental breakfast was available BUT you could go to the "pantry/store" and make a waffle. I have to say it was tasty. I could only rate the hotel as average but I will give the staff an A+++. Very kind.

I rarely write bad reviews, but this one deserves it. The hotel is well located and has nice amenities. The staff that checked us in was wonderful. 2 days later the manager changed to Jennifer and everything went down. There were no replacement towels, with 3 girls and a wife, 4 towels doesn't cut it. Then the breakfast area was filthy. Bottles of juice sitting all over the ground, all the counter dirty, trash cans filled. I asked to see the manager (Jennifer) and her response was " Our customers are pigs" I assume she meant to include me in that. I'm a diamond member and have traveled to a hundred IHG locations and have never been greeted with that attitude. IHG called her and she lied about everything, but I do have the photos to prove it. So disappointing that the manager can completely change the quality of a stay .

Room was dated but clean. Bathroom shower was in need of cosmetic repairs but the water pressure was great. Our coffee pot was broken but otherwise the kitchen was fully stocked ( with utensils and plates etc, not food). The bed was comfortable and we didn’t experience any real noise issues. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Shower / Tub had not been cleaned in a while. Dirt was caked on, and washcloth was filthy from me having to clean tub. When asked for something to be done, they had no one to clean it, and offered extra points and change rooms…. No sincere apology or concern really for this disgust.

We were so disappointed in our stay on June 10th 2024 As we arrived, it began with us asking for an early check-in. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and we arrived at 2:20 p.m. We were told that check-in is at 3:00 p.m., with no exceptions. We understood that, but there were no cars in the parking lot, and we were only 40 minutes early. It wasn’t the rule that we were disappointed in, but it was the woman's rudeness. We asked about washing our clothes and she offered us access to the washer at no cost, which we appreciated. As we were washing our clothes, around 3:10, we asked her about the room and if it was ready. In a very rude tone, she said that she would be right with us and made us wait another 10 minutes. We finally got checked into the room. Later in the evening, and the next room to us, the TV was so loud that we had to try and drown it out with music. We called downstairs and spoke with the attendant (a different woman from when we checked in) This woman was very nice and polite and told us that the man next door was tough of hearing and that is why the TV was so loud. She said she could not ask him to turn it down until 9:00 p.m. After 9:00 p.m., she could not get him to answer the phone or the door. So, she offered to move us to another room. We finally moved all our things late at night, just to get some rest. The woman was very nice and was very apologetic. So, we finally got moved and were wondering why we would be put in a room next to a hard-of-hearing person when there were plenty of other rooms available. We sort of felt like this was deliberate by the woman who checked us in. When we got ready to check out, the woman (different from the afternoon and night clerks) was sound asleep, and we had to wake her. She too was very rude to us and when I gave her both sets of keys, she never asked why and said she didn’t care. When she handed me my receipt, I didn’t say anything and walked away because I didn’t want to say something to her that I would regret, and then she said “YOUR WELCOME” with a sarcastic attitude. We left with a very uneasy feeling for Erie PA. On a bright note, we did get to wash our clothes free and get 500 additional points, so we don't want to say it was all bad.

This hotel is a joke I'd stay away from it if u value your money as I was charged 3 times for the same dirty Gross room that wasn't worth half the price of 1 payment let alone 3x then the management Daniel is a joke couldn't help and seemed more annoyed that I was mad that they charge me 3x than he would help in the end he was annoyed didn't refund me and banned me from staying again lol like I wouldn't let me dog stay in this hotel let alone another person

Stayed for two weeks. Can't wait to leave. Apparently the walls are not insulated and had to listen to TV all night above us. Asked at the front desk if there was a quiet policy at night. They do not. Asked twice and they were allegedly going to correct problem. It stopped one night and then . resumed. This is not the place to stay if you want to sleep. Also noticed the wall would shake when neighboring door slammed.

The room is clean and has everything you need. The staff is always helpful. It's our second time staying here for family occasions, and we will come back again. It's a great location for shopping, dining and the main interchanges are nearby. The commute to the State Park Beach is about a 15-minute drive.

A friend and I had a very nice stay at the Candlewood Suites,Erie hotel, while in town to see a college friend. I'd read a few negative reviews, so I was a little nervous about the hotel, but everything was just fiine. I didn't recall the name of the young woman at the desk when we arrived, but we appreciated her checking to find a room for us, when we arrived early. She was very courteous and professional. Our double queen bed room was spacious, and very clean. We didn't need the full kitchen, but it looked like everything was provided for meal preparation. There was also a display in the lobby with many cooking items, such as crock pots, air fryers, and other specialty items that were available to borrow. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. My friend commented that she usually has trouble sleeping the first night in a strange place, but not this time. Our two nights here were some of the best sleep/rest I've had in any hotel. The bathroom was also very clean, with a wonderful shower head. They also provide Dove products, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in dispensers on the tub/shower wall. All were very nice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when in the Erie area.
