Lancemore Milawa

We recently stayed at Lancemore Milawa for 2 nights. The hotels design is modern and stylish, with a really comfortable vibe. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, making it very enjoyable. One of the first things we did after arriving was take a walk around the grounds which are absolutely stunning and helped us relax into our weekend away. The restaurant was amazing and plenty of options for brekky in the morning too. Special mention to Serena the General Manager who took time to walk around and discuss the new design vision after their renovations. Highly recommended anyone looking for a weekend getaway!

We had a lovely and comfortable stay at Lancemore. The staff were all very nice and the breakfast was fine. We stayed at Lancemore years ago pre renovation and it was lovely then. Since the renovation the price has more than doubled so I was expecting a big upgrade. This is what left the experience short. The renovation didn’t feel very different to the previous iteration and they are now charging north of $800 per night. For this price I was expecting more. I think if a hotel wants to pitch themselves in this price bracket everything needs to be a cut above. So whilst we had a lovely stay, at the current prices i wouldn’t return.

Great service from lovely staff, very comfy modern open spaces. The selection of wines in the dining room were fantastic and were really great accompaniments to the dinner menu. Overall, a wonderful weekend getaway. We look forward to checking out other Lancemore properties.

Recently stayed at Lancemore for 3 nights. It is well located to visit surrounding wineries, Milawa Cheese factory, mustard shop; and further afield, Myrtleford, Beechworth with its wonderful attractions, and Bright. Although Lancemore is very pleasantly situated among the vineyards, the hotel itself is bland, boring and monochrome. White walls, minimal art or colour, negligible room decoration other than a couple of tiny, bemusing wall tiles and an odd little piece of curved metal. We visited the Beechworth Goal, and the corridors of Lancemore had a lot in common with those in the Goal. The restaurant is overpriced, the pulled lamb was dry, and the presentation colourless and unappealing. Breakfasts were reasonable, and Julie was a standout for efficiency, friendliness and enthusiasm for the hotel and the local area, and with tourist recommendations. Other staff were quite disengaged, with limited greetings or friendliness. General cleanliness was fine, although there was an unpleasant smell from the basin. Ava’s restaurant in Milawa was exceptional, with highly skilled and attentive staff, and the pub meal was very pleasant and good value.

Unfortunately there is something not right about the feel of this hotel. Feels like a bunker, a bit cold and sterile ,lacking any warmth. Bare walls down the main hall don't help. Our room was odd, in so far ,as it had a large bracket on the wall for no discernible reason, and one light, very high on the wall, attached to a blue tooth speaker? The TV had a volume limit of 11 and if you had the heater on it was useless. The staff are friendly, but for the most part the restaurant people lack confidence and need more training. Food was excellent, with both dinner & breakfast being of a high standard with the exceptional of the deserts. Shockers ! Unfortunately we wouldn't stay here again.

Birthday weekend. No water for shower barely a drip. Apparently they fixed it, however was still terrible. Meals at the restaurant were fresh but bland and overpriced. Bar fridge smells bad. Aircon remote battery is flat. The bed was quite comfortable though. Not worth the $440pn in my view. Good meals at the hotel in Main Street. Room 35!
