Do not be fooled by appearances. I wanted to love this place but I was left disappointed and ripped off. The only positive of this property is the location. The rooms are extremely tired, poorly maintained and housekeeping and management are lacking. No value for the cost that is pretty high considering the experience. I stayed in this property with a friend the nights between February 11th and 12th. We occupied room 1 and 3 and both presented similar issues, some extremely worrisome (more below). The cost of the room was almost Euro 450/rooms and the list of problems was a page long. 1) We were greeted by an incredibly strong and persistent smell of gas on the landing of both rooms (particularly pronounced in room 1) that penetrated the room. We pointed this out to the person that escorted us to room which minimized the issue, however the problem persisted and were forced to “sleep” with the windows open in cold weather (temperature was around 4d Celsius) with plenty of noise coming from the courtyard below well into the early hours of the morning. 2) In room 3 the bottles of water in the fridge were half empty and already drunk by a previous guest, the tissue box in the bathroom was completely empty and left as such, the house phone was unplugged and unusable. The floor lamp in the bedroom was burned and when I tried to plug it back in, I was nearly electrocuted. The shower was lukewarm at best. 3) Also, in Room 3 the epoxy coated floor was heavily cracked in multiple locations, including the bedside. The cracks were long (24” on average) and SHARP!! To avoid slicing my foot open in the middle of the night I had to cover each location with towels. 4) The lighting level is horrible, the outlets are not thought out for a hospitality experience and the safe is too small for an average lap top. 5) In room 1 the TV cable was missing and the smell of gas was a major concern. The Director of the hotel admitted that the smell of gas was extremely troubling and offered us a refund that we never received. 6) The check in experience is messy and so is the attempt to contact the front office, which is practically unattended. Guests are left outside waiting for someone to show up without any support. 7) The breakfast was underwhelming at best with some major service issues. 8) The staff is pleasant but not well trained. The experience was negative and the price unjustified for the quality of service and the state of the rooms.
