B&B Sant'Agostino

Lovely helpful host allowed us early access and late departure. Room was clean and changed daily. Close to centre and the canal/ restaurant area. However I would strongly suggest to her that more information is given as to how to gain access. You must ring her as in Italy B&Bs are not signposted and the rooms are in a gated community. It is not a B&B as we think of in the Uk, which is a small family run hotel. It is an apartment on the ground floor of a block. Not what I expected at all. That’s not to say it is a problem just unexpected. Breakfast in Italy is the standard cake fruit and coffee. Again unexpected and feels incredibly basic but it is the norm when not in a good hotel. The price varies considerably which is normal this time of year but we got the wrong end at £130 pm when today it is around £90!! I do feel that the price I paid was expensive and would have paid more for a standard hotel if I’d known but to be fair I haven’t had the privilege of experiencing the ‘opposition’. I emphasise that had I known in advance what was coming I might have been quite happy at £100pn.

Nonostante sia scomodo da raggiungere con i mezzi pubblici - ci vogliono 48 minuti dalla stazione centrale e due cambi autobus - non è molto lontano dal duomo. Ci si arriva camminando su via Genova e poi vis Torino. La stanza singola è composta da un letto stile branda militare, una scrivania di risulta da qualche ufficio dismesso, un bagno senza alcuna offerta di un qualche supporto igienico tranne la carta igienica. Due sono gli asciugamani proposti. La tv e’ minimale, non la guardo e quindi amen. La colazione è offerta sul vassoio preparato il giorno prima. Bustina di tè o tisana, 3 cialde di caffè da prepararsi in proprio in una macchina posta sul corridoio. Non c’è una sala per mangiare. Offerta anche una pasta di pasticceria e frutta fresca (alcune fragole, dell’uva). È il risultato dello sfruttamento di un appartamento piccolissimo in cui sono state ricavate tre stanze. Non è suggerito per chi vuole riposare in un ambiente ameno ma solo per chi vuole dormire e se ne infischia di tutto il resto. Ma per i singoli il letto non è consigliato. Di fatto non vale assolutamente i 75 euro del costo di una notte. Lo sconsiglio fortemente.
