We were a little apprehensive when we first arrived and there was a little mix up with the booking (not the fault of the owners) but once we got into the room we were really happy. When we arrived we were greeted with cold towels and a welcome drink, amazing or a little resort such as this! Our room was spotlessly clean and fresh, the bathroom too and we had been upgraded to a family room so we had plenty of space, we also had a nice balcony with chairs and a table. The water from the shower was hot (but it does take a little time to run through) and we had a little fridge that kept our too large water bottles provided nice and cold. We had dinner and breakfast both days and both were delicious, the breakfast was particularly impressive, we couldn’t eat another thing until dinner that night! The food is cooked by the Mother and the 2 sons look after the guests and it was a 5* service from both of them, so helpful and kind. The beds were comfortable at the end of a exhausting day visiting all the sights and we slept really well. Their Father organised a Tuktuk tour around the sights for us and it was very enjoyable - take plenty of water, it can be very hot, and socks are a good idea as you cannot wear shoes in the temples (we didn’t and I wish we had). Ladies modest dress, men cover knees. A good tip if you are moving on is to use the pickme app, we found it very cost effective as we were given a quote to Dambulla that was a lot more than we paid. A lovely stay with a lovely family and I would recommend to anyone looking for good quality, budget accommodation. Be aware there is no alcohol served in this area.
