We stayed at Campus Polanco and were genuinely impressed by how beautiful the property is. The architecture and landscaping are gorgeous, and the room itself was well-decorated, and very comfortable. The location is also ideal—quiet, yet close to the action in Mexico City. However, a few details detracted from the experience. The toilet in our room was poorly positioned—so close to the door that your knees would touch it while seated, making it uncomfortable to use. The shower also leaked water out into the bedroom area, so we had to keep towels on the floor to contain it. Breakfast could use some attention. There was no clear explanation of what was available or how it worked, and the host came across as abrupt. The coffee was bitter and undrinkable without a heavy dose of sugar, and the eggs we requested were hastily prepared and not appetizing. While there were pastries like croissants, there were no facilities to warm them up, which would have made a big difference. Another thing to note: the house car offered for airport transfers is significantly overpriced. It’s not worth the cost. We found that using Uber BlackXL or a comparable SUV service was far more economical—literally a quarter of the price—and just as convenient. In summary, this is a beautiful property in a great location with high potential, but some of the room design choices, breakfast experience, and transportation pricing could be improved to deliver a truly top-tier stay.
