The noise from the rooftop was way too loud. The hotel rents out the rooftop for private events so non-hotel guests were constantly showing up, and the noise became too much. At around 11 PM, the hotel was kind enough to move me to a lower room. While the rooftop music wasn't as loud, the issue became drunk partiers yelling from the lobby trying to get to the party upstairs...all of which could be heard from the room. As I was trying to switch rooms, the 2 elevators at the lobby had a ton of outside partiers waiting to get to the party upstairs, so I had to take the stairs to switch between my rooms. There were guards stationed outside trying to control the flow of partiers, but for whatever reason, big groups of non-hotel guests were making their way into the lobby and they were very loud. It felt more like a night club then a boutique hotel. Needless to say, there wasn't a lot of quality rest in this hotel. Additionally, since a private group was renting the terrace, hotel guests were asked to leave even before the party started. I asked an attendant at the pool for a towel, and she refused because they had to prepare for the party. This was at 4:30 PM and the party was to start at 6. I had been told that the pool would be closed at 5 PM, and figured I could lounge for 30 mins but that wasn't the case. When I asked the front desk about it, they told me that people had paid to use the space. Hotel guests also pay and the hotel even highlights the terrace as a major reason for picking their hotel. The priority, unfortunately, seemed to be the outside guests. For a hotel that presents itself as one of the top options in the Polanco area, the experience they offered was far from it. I found this hotel to be very disappointing, and would not recommend it at all. There are much better hotels in the area.
