"I loved this place. I was on the Motorway and the drowsy thing on the dashboard of my rental car kept going off. I had just gotten off a redeye from the States. It was clear I wasn't going to make my hotel reservation in Normandy. I found this place on Priceline. It was quite a ways away, but it was one of the most beautiful drives I have ever been on. IIRC is was 49 miles. When I got to the town where the hotel was located it was like stepping back in time. The staff was welcoming and spoke English. My room was beautiful. It was more like a room in a new home. I was in a building beside the main hotel. I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Both meals were outstanding. My stay here was one of the most memorable events of my trip. I was in France driving the Liberty Road and retracing my father's footsteps during the war."

But the staff, good food, and the many different spaces for guests to relax, all add to the experience making it something very special indeed. Of course it helped that we stayed here during perfect weather, and could enjoy sitting and eating outdoors, the views, and a relaxing stroll around the village itself. Of course there is a small price to pay for such character, and you cannot expect modern lifts and to be able to drive up to the door. But these are also the things that make it charming - no cars on the forecourt, character staircases and even the chiming of the church bells. Relax and enjoy it all,"

"Our first time in a youth hostel pleasantly surprised us. The room and its private bathroom, with toilet, were clean, the bed comfortable, the breakfast buffet plentiful with the possibility of eating sweet or savory according to tastes and the welcome was very nice. Private secure parking for a fee but at a reasonable price (€6). Really the best possible quality/price ratio."
