Hillcrest Merimbula

Very welcoming reception, clean and very comfortable room with spectacular view. Not too far from the town and beaches. Very peaceful setting and lovely pool area with tennis court. It was a pleasure for us to stay at this accommodation and we would have liked to stay longer.

I love everything about Hillcrest! The view is breathtaking, bed is comfortable and the room is spacious. The staff are friendly and very helpful too. Suitable for solo or couples. The check in/out process was seamless and easy. I'm already excited for my next visit :)

What a fantastic hotel. The views were incredible. The beds were super comfortable. The aircon was quiet. The block out curtains meant I had the best nights sleep. The staff could not have been more helpful. The small touches such as the binoculars in the room were really well thought out. We would definitely recommend staying here.

This would probably have been a 5 star review if it weren't for the lack of quality control in room cleanliness. The positives of this accommodation (decor, location, view etc) are well covered in the other reviews, however in my case were sadly tainted by a very disappointing standard of cleanliness. There were old cobwebs on the sofa, hairs scattered across the floor and bundled in the bathroom and even the previous people's rubbish left in plain sight on the counter. I had similar reports of cobwebs and hair from the others in our group who stayed in different rooms. I'll put it down to a lazy or rushed housekeeper over the long weekend but such simple oversights in basic cleanliness really left a disconcerting feeling during our stay and I'll look elsewhere next time I pass through Merimbula.

Expect great hospitality here. The manager, Chris, ensures guests have a great experience at Hillcrest. Chris made a last minute dinner reservation possible. It was one of the highlights of my trip. I especially enjoyed the easy parking and great views.

We had the pleasure to rest a night at this beautifully renovated motel wrapped in a whisper of times gone by. Nestled on a hillside with breathtaking views overlooking the town of Merimbula. The bathroom (with complimentary Kevin Murphy products) and bedroom were styled in neutral tones with furniture and soft furnishings that welcomed us after a long day of driving. We stayed in and enjoyed watching the day fall to night with the town’s lights mingling gently with the night stars. The tide rose and fell until finally we succumbed to sleep in the gorgeous bed, leaving the curtains open enveloping us in the softest breeze and then to wake and watch (from our bed) the sun rise over the ocean. The grounds of Hillcrest were as beautiful as our room, with a tennis court, fire pit and pool. Chris, our host, was informative of the town and the area and spent quite some time with us. Unfortunately, this was a quick stop over on our journey - however, we will be back…
