Tru by Hilton Meridian

Nice place with restaurant next door. Very convenient and easy to find. Very polite staff and easy check in experience. Staff interaction was phenomenal.

$75 “incidental” fee applied to the quoted rate. TV operation is a nightmare. Took 45 minutes to finally get to the channel I wanted. Now I’m afraid to change channels. And at $200 per night it should be spotless. Common areas are a mess. And I still have tomorrow morning to have the rest of my Tru experience.

When we arrived at Tru in Meridian, MS, we were greeted by a hugh cockroach and several silverfish. There was an excessive amount of dust mixed with pet hair along the headboard. Shower door, bottom half, had soap scum. The staff is nice. But, I will not stay there again.

When you are tired from traveling all day and just need a bed, this is the place. It is convenient to Sam’s Club for gas. We drove to a restaurant, but could have just as easily walked. Bed was comfy and room was clean. Breakfast was typical hotel fare. The staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly and helpful immediately instead of asking you to wait.

Excellent service, breakfast and a clean modern room for a good price. There was a nice restaurant walking distance Calle Giggy D’s. Also a nice ice cream shop also walking distance that was open in the evening. We went for a fourth floor room to avoid the traffic noise and it was fine. It was missing USB sockets though, unusual for a new hotel and very useful for international tourists! I would recommend it for anyone like us on a road trip, looking for a clean, value for money hotel, near the highway in a safe location with a nice restaurant next to it to walk to.

We were on a long road trip to Myrtle Beach SC , and drove 10 hours this day. Had to stop so booked Tru Hotel online. We were greeted by the absolutely precious Shay. She set us up for a great stay with her great attitude and welcoming smile. The room was very clean and uncluttered with a hard floor—no funky carpets. Bathroom was oversized and very nice. Bed had clean white bedding. Breakfast was good with a wide array of choices and everyone was welcoming, friendly, and focused on customer needs. We recommend this Tru hotel with no reservations.

Upon arrival, the computer system was not working correctly. It had just rained and according to the nice lady checking us in, this happens every time it rains. I had asked to change the CC on file so that I could capture more points on a different card than what was on file however, either she couldn't change it because he didn't know how or the system would not allow her. I left unclear as to why. The room was nice and the breakfast was good.

Our first and last stay at a Tru by Hilton. Great EV charging. There are 3 Tesla destination chargers with fair to good charge rate, depending in the one you use. But towels were coarse and small, our room's floor inadequately cleaned and the pillows were inadequate; one of them seemed so worn out that we suspect it was one that someone brought from home and left in the room. The front desk had no add'l pillows. The merits of the EV charging do not outweigh the grievances listed above. We won't be using Tru again.

Stayed here overnight March 2nd with my mute little chihuahua to take a break from driving. The desk clerk warned me that there was no hot water, but the rate was good and I needed rest more than a shower. So yes, there was no hot water, but that's not the subject of this review. Instead, I'd like to commend the staff on their professionalism. The staff were repeatedly berated by angry guests who were unhappy about the water situation, yet they (the staff) continued being courteous, cheerful and professional, even though I'm sure they were upset about the abuse they received. No amount of yelling and complaining will change the fact that large facilities, like hotels, run on large systems that can not be repaired with parts off the shelf at Home Depot. Please remember that before you berate helpless hotel staff. There are business cards at the front desk - if you must complain, take a business card and contact someone higher up instead of taking your frustrations out on the helpless hotel staff. My room & the facilities were very clean, tidy and well-maintained. Everyone seemed to be working hard to keep things clean and running smoothly. The lobby is ABUNDANTLY stocked with just about any snack you could want or any sundries you might need for your stay. I appreciate how pet-friendly the hotel is. I was given a doggy "goody bag" on arrival with a generous pack of treats that my pooch loved,a tennis ball that other dogs would love, and a poop clean-up bag. My room was quiet and efficiency-style. Small, but not cramped with stylish contemporary decor. There was no closet, but pegs and a rack to hang clothes on. TV was pretty big and the heavy duo-blinds kept the room very dark. This efficiency style wouldn't be my choice for a long-term stay, or if I had to share the room with 3 or more people, but for solo or a couple, it was perfect. All in all, I'd stay here again. I'd PREFER to have hot water, but I'd choose a clean place with courteous staff and no hot water over a dirty dump with rude staff any day. Be blessed!
