The Three Pickerels

A wonderful place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at The Three Pickerels and will definitely be returning. We received such a warm welcome from Josh who booked us in and showed us to our room which was stylish, modern, cosy, comfortable and super clean. It had all the amenities we needed. Later we dined in the hotel and once again were impressed by the warm welcome from Aaron. The food was excellent as was the service and ambiance of the restaurant where once again Josh was politeness itself. Breakfast the following morning was delicious and when it was time to go we wished we’d booked another night. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable.

This has to be one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at in many a year. We arrived 2 hours early and were given key to the room and a very nice young lady showed us the way and explained the facilities. The evening meals were excellent, portions very good and excellent quality food and drink, the lad who served us was pleasant and always smiling. Lovely nights sleep was followed by a super english breakfast and real coffee. What a way to finish the stay. We had a walk around the grounds and it is plain to see the grounds have been lovingly tendered with great furniture etc. We will be back.

Visited for 3 nights at the end of June. Bedroom was reasonably spacious and the bathroom was modern and well appointed with a good shower. The main problem was the room was too hot. The hotel provided a fan, which we had running all night, which probably helped a little, but the main problem was the design of the building, which soaked up the warmth of the sun. First floor rooms may be slightly cooler than those on the top floor. Breakfasts were good, although we kept having to ask for sugar and butter, which, for some reason, was not supplied on the breakfast table.

The service was good, but the steak pie was so hard and dry my husband couldn't eat it! We did get a refund for this. And my lemon and asparagus risotto didn't have any taste to it couldn't taste any lemon ! It was a shame as it was a special treat for us ! The place has a lovely view

the hotel was beautifully decorated, the bed comfortable with a good powerful shower. The views are nice next to the river. All in all good value for money with a lovely pub & restaurant below. We had a glorious evening meal and sublime breakfast. The staff were all friendly and made us feel most welcomed. Would stay again.

Rooms and staff are good. Food could be better. Sure the setting is great when it’s not dark/raining/flooded The car park is small - no space when we returned on Saturday evening. We agreed at checkout when they replied to our comment there needed to be an inside way through to the restaurant with or a canopy. This would be better than going outside to walk round in all weather. Its a coffee pod machine that doesn’t take Nespresso capsules. To get hot water you have to turn the taps on full. Threw me at first. We were in room 6 and didn’t find noise an issue. Though in warmer weather it would be busier and noisier. We would stay again if in the area but will check out other options.
