Hôtel de Londres

This pains me greatly to share this, but at 04:30, I was required to attend to a phone call from Asia, and went to the lobby area to take care of my affairs so as to not wake others on my floor or in my room, and some 20-25 year old woman with a bucket and mop, no ID or other title, explained that for security reasons, I (and nobody else) was not allowed to be in the lobby area, the bar lounge, or the restaurant area at that time, and I had to go back to my room. When I asked "When would it be appropriate to be in the lobby area?", she looked confused, huffed and puffed, looked highly confused, and finally said "When the sun rises". When I asked why this was, she answered that the policy existed for hotel security and she wasn't allowed to work with others present (I suppose fears of sexual predators or people stealing tequila from the bar are the cause of this). When I asked "what does the 24/24 Reception mean?", she answered that it was for "emergency cases only", and that between 22:00 to 06:30 or "sunrise and the delivery of the croissants" nobody was allowed to be in the lobby area or first floor of the hotel. It was all childish and ridiculous, but greatly inconvenienced myself and my wife. I explained this was ridiculous, and I still have no idea what sort of strange logic the hotel was operating with. "I'm so sorry, but that's the hotel policy...You cannot be here". I remain highly irritated by this offhanded and somewhat selfish perception of hotel policy, especially in the face of "24/24 Front Desk Service" which I now know is "Emergency Cases Only".

Absolutely lovely hotel very close to the promenade and seafront ( one road away). We could see the sea from our rooms, which had high ceilings and large windows. The rooms were also very light and modern. Although the rooms were quite small, they were well designed and very practical. This is a family run hotel and the owners were around, ensuring everything went smoothly. Free use of paddle boards and cute bar outside. Very cool and chilled vibe. Felt like a home from home. Excellent value. Would certainly recommend.

We loved our stay at the Hotel de Londres! Our room was super comfortable, and the staff was so friendly. Best of all was the location - we walked absolutely everywhere from here. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. I highly recommend booking the suite, with a cute little balcony. Menton is a lovely town that I hadn't heard of before planning this trip. Now I can't imagine visiting the south of France without seeing it!

My wife and I stayed at Hotel de Londres for a week in April 2024. Great staff, great location, great breakfast. Close to the water. Pleasant outside patio area. In particular, we want to commend the staff (shout-out especially to to Chiara, Elodie and Lola, as well as the hotel manager [sorry, but I can’t recall his name]) who helped us when my wife fell and broke her leg when we were walking in the mountains. Chiara and the manager helped us get in touch with emergency services, who helicoptered my wife to the hospital in Menton. The hotel staff moved us to a room that was more accessible, helped us with translation in making needed arrangements for my wife’s care and otherwise did all they could to help. While hopefully no other guests will need this kind of assistance, just know that the hotel staff is first class.

A very warm welcome by the staff. With all the tips possible of places to visit the top restaurants in the area, and there are several. Very comfortable room and well appointed with all the necessary accessories. The garden is very inviting to relax once the weather permits

The hotel infrastructure is indeed a correct three star hotel classification. But client attention is five stars. You can count on a very helpful reception team that will assist you with a smile. From transport arrangements to restaurant reservations you will feed taken care off. Rooms are as small as in the pictures here in Tripadvisor. If You are travelling with large luggage and in need of great storage space check if these rooms fit your needs. Housekeeping is ok and rooms were properly cleaned every day. This hotel has no restaurant. Only a bar with a nice terrace. Breakfast is not huge in diversity, but with great assortment of quality products for every need. I had a great breakfast every morning. Location is very convenient. A few meters from the beach and with several restaurants in walking distance.
