Bowden House B&B

I very rarely give 5 stars… Uta & Jason have really invested a lot of attention in the details. Not all B&B ‘s provide face cloth’s in the shower, conditioner and lotion. I really appreciated the taller toilet -as we age it’s appreciably noticeable! We thoroughly enjoyed our chat with Jason by the nice fire. Uta goes out for breakfast… and the views and gardens are stunning!

Great host, good communication and very quick response. Very flexible, with a very warm welcome. The accommodation had a lovely home feel, very spacious front sitting area for guests. We had a lovely (totally unexpected) hot drink which was lovely when it is so cold outside and some cupcakes to go with it. The room has everything you need, we stayed for one night. We had a lovely meal at Melrose and came back to a nice bottle of bubble as we were celebrating a couple of birthdays. The room was very clean, good shower and comfy bed. The view outside was amazing. We had a lovely breakfast, which consist of a nicely presented fruit platter, a choice of cold cereals, yoghurt and a cooked breakfast. We had eggs with salmon and avocado (an odd but surprisingly good paring) and salsa. Unless you are asking for the world the host is very flexible with the choice of breakfast. Other good points Lots of parking space Gated - very secure nice fire place Has 2 lovely dogs (only came out when guest are happy) Thank you for our stay, I would most certainly come back

We stayed for 3 night's and had a great time from arriving to leaving. Uta & Jason perfect host's, nothing was any trouble and the room was great. this is one of the nicest and cleanest B &B's we've have ever come across in our travels . The breakfast and choice was unbelievable and everything we tried was excellently cooked and served. The garden and views of the hills magnificent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The canine helpers Yoko & Tiger were friendly and very well behaved would have taken them home if allowed. David & Jean

From the minute we arrived Uta made us feel so welcome with tea and biscuits before showing us to our room. The most amazing views from the bedroom and the bathroom of stunning countryside. Everything in the room felt luxurious and nothing was too much trouble, including our own jug of fresh milk. On our last day a fantastic breakfast was laid out on the terrace so we could once again appreciate the beautiful gardens and the rolling vistas. Even hand foraged mushrooms and fresh fruit and various juices, tea and coffee… and endless supplies of toast to go with a truly tasty breakfast of our choice ( many options) If anyone is thinking of booking this gem of a bed and breakfast I would certainly recommend. Fabulous B&B. We were in Melrose for the weekend and this was a great place to stay. Hosts Uta and Jason are so friendly and helpful. Bedrooms are spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was superb and the choice is amazing !! It is a very peaceful setting with a lovely outlook from the bedrooms

Very comfortable beds with delicious breakfasts and beautiful views to boot. The hosts couldn't have been more attentive and welcoming. All in all a wonderful three night stay. Melrose has a lot to offer and the surrounding areas. We will return. Thank you so much Uta and Jason.
